hope this reduces 350/370 prices...so I can one day own my own Z
You don't think one day a time may come when you could afford a $20k car?
the model does not have a manual aleady for this chassis

I am no Mustang fanboy but it looks objectively and subjectively better than the Z... the Mustang has significantly more power, more torque and powered by that amazing sounding V8. The automatic is the universally praised 10 speed against the Nissan 9 speed.
The Supra is a much better car than the Mustang and miles ahead of the Z.
So per your comments, the mustang is better than the Z because it has more power, torque, and gears.
But the best car is the Supra, which has the least power, torque, and gears.
There's a definite mania for 90s Japanese turbo cars, mkiv Supras and GTRs selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. To anyone who grew up with gran Turismo or fast and furious, they're the most desired cars, and that age group is just coming into money, hence the prices now.
This is the closest new thing to one of those hero cars, being made in Japan, manual, with a large Turbo six (with apologies to the departing GTR and NSX).
I think Nissan will sell out their Australian allocation for at least the first year or two.
Nissan is screwing Australia over with pricing.
You don't know what the price of this product is, yet you're outraged by it anyway
If we compare the new Z to the performance bargains of yesteryear, we'll just be depressed. The day of the $50K Golf R (or 370Z) and the $60K M135i is long gone. All their replacement models have gone upmarket in price. So too has the Z.
They are just milking it now. It’s using same structure as 370z
The 370z cost $71k in 2009. So it's cheaper than it was then.
I bought my auto 370z back in 2012 for $53k drive away Adjusted for “inflation” that would be $63k today.
The manufacturers recommended price for a manual in 2012 was $72500.
So you robbed them, or possibly your comment is a work of fiction?

370z regularly hit mid 50k throughout its lifetime look it up.
The auto 370z was $72,890 until November 2013.

There were later price reductions, but it was never officially priced mid-$50s in 2012 or earlier, when you claim to have bought one.
Okay, maybe you'll also get this one $20k off MRLP in a few years time.
Seems kind of absurb to be mad at Nissan for advertising a better car at a lower MRLP price than the car you purchased.
I've seen some laughable hot takes on the forums about how 'slow' the new Z is and how it got 'thrashed' by the Supra and Mustang Mach 1
Takes are like "this car is shit and dead to me".
It seems absurd and juvenile, unless you're specifically going to spend a lot of time drag racing stock supras and mustangs, I don't think it will make a lot of difference to your life which is 0.2 seconds faster in a drag race.
It's like a playground Nintendo vs Sega mentality, people want to own the one that says they have 0.2 inches more penis length. Which shows a widespread lack of real understanding of cars, among even supposed 'enthusiasts'.
I should stop reading online comments about new cars, always bad takes.
Was/is the 370 gearbox known to hold on after massive power increases?
I'm going to guess increasing the power may have broken the synchros on 1st and 2nd.
Golf R does around 0-100 in 4.5sec in real life
The Z is probably equal or a little quicker than that.
I'd argue it's slow by 2022 standards
Same as A45 and I'm sure some other cars
I'm not sure why similarity to an A45 determines whether something is slow.
Yes, there are other cars with 400hp or more.
I commented it has 400hp, as that is a lot of hp, and would make a car fast.
You commented that an A45 also has 400hp. I'm not sure why you brought up the A45, if not to suggest "similarity to an A45 determines whether something is slow".
Were you just arbitrarily making a list of 400+hp cars with no contextual meaning?
The A45 is 400hp and is faster. A golf R has 315hp and is as fast as the 400z. A Supra with 382hp is faster.
Those cars are all fairly similar in acceleration, unless you're specifically going to spend a lot of time drag racing stock golfs, A45, and supras, I don't think it will make a lot of difference to your life which is 0.2 seconds faster in a drag race.
Discussing the Nissan Z – The Carmudgeon Show featuring Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott.
This is the most in-depth discussion you'll hear on the Z.
You have to understand these comments in the context of his and Derek's perspective on cars overall.
Which is that virtually all modern stuff is dead, and compares poorly to an 80s scirocco or 1973 Porsche RS.
Which I 100% agree with, but if you're taking from those comments that you're better off shopping some modern German or Muscle car for a superior driving experience, that's not what they're saying.
What can you buy that's better value?
The only comparable cars are the Mustang GT for $8k less, and the Supra for $14k more.
If you really like one of these cars over the other, given the price and running costs, $8k wouldn't be a decider for me, the price is in the general ballpark.
