Hmmm, at $299 I might have to get a couple of these, love my stereo pair but would like a few more around the house... But the mini, will it be as good...
Can I get 2 of the HomePod minis and pair them as stereo speakers for my 5k iMac 2020 ?
Ooh, interesting, would also like to know the answer to this.
I could then get 2 minis for my desk and move the existing HomePods elsewhere
Can I get 2 of the HomePod minis and pair them as stereo speakers for my 5k iMac 2020 ?
No, it’s the same deal, HomePod mini stereo pairs won’t work either
Why would Mac to HomePod be an issue ?

This works fine for a single HomePod, if you have a stereo pair it doesn’t each of the HomePods show up as standalone devices so you can only select one HomePod and not the pair.
Yeah but you can do it fine with an iPad. Are there any third party AirPlay 2 apps for Mac?
No, none of these apps support it either
What about Big Sur? Still no support?
Nope, needs Airplay 2 see https://forums.macrumors.com/
Thinking about getting a pair of original HomePods, anyone know of how the $140 works?
Can I buy 1, then use the $140 gift card to buy the second straight away or is it a physical gift card that arrives with the HomePod?
I grabbed 2 online June 29th for $399, a week previously they were $439…
I hadn’t seen the stock check site mentioned above until after I purchased them but Victorian stocks didn’t appear to update and continued I think at 270 in Victoria for the next few days
I was hoping to keep a watch on the stock and prices and purchase a couple more of the price dropped significantly, now they’re removed doesn’t look like that’ll be happening
Random thought, I wonder if Apple purchased back the remaining HomePods from OfficeWorks, I've seen a heap of posts from users bricking their HomePods with the early v15 developer betas…
Yeah, good summary on that MacRumors article, since seeing mentions of this about the net the past few days I've no intention of getting the beta for HomePods until Apple has responded...
I also just realised I have both my HomePod stereo pairs connected as the default speakers on Apple TV 4Ks, each of these Apple TVs had auto-updates to allow beta updates, though I think only the 1st Gen was enrolled in the 14.x betas, 1st Gen was v14.7 & 2nd Gen v14.5, I've now disabled beta updates on the Apple TVs too, just in case it's related as HomePods and Apple TV both run the same OS, tvOS
