Just got back from the Soilwork show in Adelaide. Great performance as usual and a really good turnout for a wet and cold Wednesday night.

Great to hear people didn't choose the RATM cover band instead!
Knotfest tickets sorted
If I didn't have to travel to it, I'd consider it. But I'd only really want to see Megadeth (who I've seen 3 times already) and In Flames, so it's definitely a pass for me.

Indeed! I’m a huge rage fan but I’d never choose a cover band over seeing a proper band if it happens to clash on the same date. Sorry cover bands haha.

I’m in the same position, would love to go but it starts getting too expensive booking flights and accommodation. I’m just hoping some of the bands do a sideshow in Adelaide but not too fussed if they don’t. Have seen Megadeth, In Flames and Slipknot before.
Deftones sideshow announced for Adelaide as part of the GoodThings Festival.
Wednesday November 30th Thebarton Theatre.
Sad that Jinjer isn't doing any Brisbane sideshows, might have to travel to Melbourne since I'd like to see them and Electric Callboy on back to back dates.

Gojira have announced sideshows as well, though only in the towns they're already playing festival dates :|
Nov 29: Roundhouse, Sydney
Dec 1: The Forum, Melbourne
Dec 6: Eatons Hill Hotel
The sideshow presale page suggests the following will also have shows:
3OH!3, DEFTONES, ELECTRIC CALLBOY, GOJIRA +LACUNA COIL, JINJER, JXDN,LACUNA COIL, MILLENCOLIN,SLEEPING WITH SIRENS , SOULFLY, NOVA TWINS + BLOOD COMMAND AND THE STORY SO FAR

Only band interested from that festival is Sabaton, and they're not doing any side shows :/

I wouldn't be surprised if their stage show is too big to make side shows viable. Unless they were willing to do venues without their tank and whatnot, there would be a limited number of venues they could play at that would support both their act and the crowd numbers to justify it.
Not to worry though, if you can't get to the show you can always get the Lego* Sabaton stage set:

*Lego "compatible"

I have seen them when the toured with Nightwish at the corner hotel in Melbourne and side show with Amon Amarth in Brisbane.. both times was in smallish venues and it was hella lot of fun.
Also saw them in europe with the whole stage set up though still preferred their small show.
Fingers crossed.

All the sideshows are done, Less than a month away and theyve just dropped the whole list...
Anyone heard about the Sick New World fest in Vegas? It almost instantly sold out but we were lucky enough to nab 2 (very) expensive tickets!
The lineup is absolutely insane so we'll have to draw some plans up for the inevitable clashes – we've only gotten as far as prioritising bands we haven't seen before and are unlikely to in Australia!
I've seen a few people post about it on Instagram etc, some comparing it to the UK Download festival also. There is a few bands I'd like to see for the Vegas one, but I think I liked the look of Download more as a whole.
Sick New World
UK Download
Both those look pretty good lineups to me. Personally I’d take the Download one if I could do any. But I’d be pretty stocked to be going to the Vegas festival too.
Hell, we haven’t even gotten tix for Knotfest. Not sure if I will go yet. Have a feeling I’m working then anyway. Kinda leaning towards the Architects & Alexis shows in Sydney which would be our first shows in years.

Probably the best festival bill I've seen in my life, for a split second there I thought about maybe selling my house to go over for it lol So in that sense I'm glad it's already sold out. Mr. Bungle, Cradle of Filth, Melvins and about 20-25 other watchable bands just a crazy bill. Faith No More would've been perfect for it but they're likely done now.
