this resolution isn't supported
How is it not? We know nvidia only enables DLSS at certain resolutions already, so if it's giving the option to enable it, surely that means it is supported?
As it stands, it certainly gives a very poor impression of DLSS, without any hint that it might not meant to be used at that res.
On this DLSS topic — do you think it'll vary its performance based on other things?
Eg. If you change detail levels, or FOV, wouldn't that require new training on the deep-learning matrix that powers DLSS?
How is it not worth mentioning? Why would the DLSS feature be limited to certain resolutions?
What I mean is that it is currently broken on ultra wide resolutions. The feature itself seems to mature if the quality jump from BFV to Metro Exodus is anything to go by, so no point in dismissing the setting just yet. I'm sure ultra wide resolutions will be fixed eventually.
I also have the LG OLED 55". Gsync+120HZ > TV.
Nah, I will take picture quality over that any day. Besides the C9 does VRR and 120hz at 4K, no reason for PC monitors anymore.
The resolution that DLSS is trained at is one thing. However, some people are playing that particular resolution on a monitor that is different, and the 2nd-rate monitor scaling of possibly fractions of pixels to fill the screen is what's providing for the blurry image. The aspect ratio needs to be maintained, even if that means black borders on some odd-sized monitors, which are extra wide or extra tall.
e.g. If you have a 4K monitor that is actually 4096 pixels wide, not the usual 3840 pixels, then the monitor can be doing some lacklustre sub-pixel level scaling to fill the screen width out, and this will show as being blurry, such as on background grass and tree detail. This is what people are reporting on forums about, and so people are thus then asking for DLSS to be trained at even more (odd) resolutions, which can come in time, in further model updates.
As it stands, it certainly gives a very poor impression of DLSS, without any hint that it might not meant to be used at that res.
In regards to Metro, users can achieve a better performance / IQ balance over DLSS with the in game resolution slider and turning on some post processing options that work in ANY resolution. As for BF5, the DLSS implementation is terrible.
I can't see developers bothering with DLSS in the future, its just too much of a headache when there are better easier to implement options that work for everyone.

Except for burn in....
Except for burn in....
Been using my OLED for a couple of years as a monitor and no such thing. Pixel shift technology and screensavers make it very hard to attract burn in.
Wow how did you go back to a standard monitor after ultra wide?? Didn't you find it so much more immersive?
I personally find the 34 inch ultrawides too big, it was more immersive, but the gaming experience on 27 inch 1440p 144hz is better imo.

That's good to know... I'd love my next PC monitor (from 2016 Sammy KS800) to be an Oled.
Rtings.com youtube channel have an interesting vlog on this...

DF did an article about using the USB-C port on the RTX (and 16 series?) cards.
Turns out it more or less just works as a USB-C port.
I didn't make the connection (huehuehn) because they call it VR Link or whatever it is.
I'd love my next PC monitor
Wait for the 2019 OLED models: they will feature 120Hz and Freesync.
Is there a new game bundle coming out soon? Don't really want Anthem and BFV.
Is there anyone as desperate as EA to pad out shipped units of their new games?

For Nvidia, none that I know of. AMD's bundle of Division 2, DMC 5 and Resident Evil 2 Remake is an awesome batch of games, but nobody really wants an RX 590 when the 1660ti now exists. With Anthem and BFV, it's been nothing but controversy after controversy.

Eta on this and approx how much it will cost?
but nobody really wants an RX 590 when the 1660ti now exists
Much of a muchness...just scrolled through half a dozen benchtests.........depends which team you barrack for and of course the prices!

The 1660ti seems to be about 10% faster overall? Its about 50 bucks more expensive than the RX 590, but then the 1660ti draws much less power...
1660 non ti / 1650 looks set to be released soon as well, more ammunition against the RX series. AMD will have to cut prices even further soon.

Around 24% faster according to Hardware unboxed..

I am on i7 2700k, is it worth going to RTX 2060 as opposed to GTX 1660 TI? I feel like I will be CPU hamstrung going with either so there's some diminishing return buying a more expensive GPU.
I do plan to upgrade my CPU/mobo, but not until Intel Gen-10 is around.
I do plan to upgrade my CPU/mobo
If this is the plan then go with the most powerful GPU your budget will allow. It doesn't make much sense in going with a weaker GPU to suit a system you will upgrade out of eventually.
I recently upgraded to an RTX 2060 and will be upgrading to a new system sometime this year.
