I disagree, 4090 performance cards or above are classified as the premium experience.
The next step down is enthusiast/high end.

I think it's just artificial labels that mean nothing. If it plays the games you want how you want, that's the perfect experience.

I can say building cheap builds in the past (htpc with a cheap GPU or similar) makes you realise there's tons of games you could play on a budget. And you are more forgiving in what it can and can't do because it's so cheap and you're just happy it can play games at all lol. The more you spend the more imperfections bother you. That's been my experience anyway.

My cyberpunk experience demands a 5080 with MFG and a 7800x3d or so CPU with an OLED monitor going upwards of 360Hz.

I'm not going back!

I've not fired up cyberpunk since acquiring my Astral 5090, but might in the near future.

I have yet to try MFG, honestly, I'm not sold on using it yet. It might be "okay" with SP games, though.

Indeed, I installed CP77 on my work PC once to see how it coped. With only an RTX 2060 on a 1440p QHD display I had to turn off RT. But holy cow, ~75 fps with balanced DLSS and the game still looked pretty damn gorgeous even with ray tracing disabled. FOMO meant I'd never entertained the idea of disabling RT on my 3070 at home, but I had to admit, the game ran just fine on the 2060 and still looked really great.

Note: I ran a couple of UE5 demos (City Sample & Forest Biome) around the same time (mid 2023) on the RTX 2060 too. Yes they were impressive, but struggled to support playable frame rates at 1440p. So a blanket statement like "tweaking settings will allow a great experience at 1440 on old cards" does not seem to apply in all cases. Especially UE5 titles. Though, recent improvements to DLSS and UE5 optimisations may have changed that position lately. Interested in hearing people's opinions.

You only use it with SP and MMORPG games.

You do not use any form of upscale (DLSS) or frame gen with competitive shooters.

Rumours that a new driver version might be released along with the 5060 Ti (Version 575.94), here's hoping it has a bunch of fixes for all the garbage currently going on with the 50 and 40 series!

Finally, they're the releasing 5050 and 5040. Sinking to new 1% lows.

So basically they are only going to supply the 16GB cards for day one reviews, the 8gb card will be available a week later but not for reviews, and the 5060 (8GB only) will not have any early reviews. Additionally, third-party partner board manufacturers also can't provide the 8GB cards for reviewers. Some have said it was because they wouldn't be ready in time, but others outright said that "NVIDIA has forbidden them from giving review samples of the 8GB models".

Nvidia seems to be sending a pretty strong message with this card, likely it'll end up being relegated to OEM systems.

Dune Awakening benchmark and character creator is interesting.
Heard they just delayed launch. No wonder, the benchmark app paints a bleak picture.

BTW: No ray tracing.
Also DLSS can be combined with FSR3 to improve FPS (with pretty awful picture quality as a result).

RTX 3070 @ QHD 1440p on Ultra and DLSS Balanced (no FSR): Benchmark results
Min FPS: 51
High FPS: 132
Avg: ~90 fps

During testing Afterburner reported:
GPU @ 100%
vRAM @ 6.5 GB of 8 GB
CPU < 80%

The big takeaway was the glitchiness with sound (ie music), scene changes and animation.
Lip syncing is also way off.
Running characters look to be ice skating as forward motion outpaces foot placement.
Cut scene face details are rubbish and lighting is laughable with mouth internals appearing to bask in inner sunlight and eyes so bright they seem to emit light rather than reflect it.
Character creator is very similar to CP77. Some textures (body tattoos) are ultra low resolution (another bug, I guess).

Hope they resolve some things before launch!

The white Zotac 5080 is somehow back out to $2800. I think it got in to around $2350. I did read a review of that particular card (GN) and they said it's about 5% faster than the fe @ stock and when overclocked it's about 12% faster than the fe. And gn have the 5080 fe around 12% faster than the 4080 super. So with the overclock the Zotac 5080 is around 24% faster than the 4080 super @ stock which is more significant than I realised at release. This varies from game to game and resolution. While running about 5 degrees cooler and significantly quieter. Far from amazing or what I expected from the card but a pretty decent OC. I'm guessing that's why this particular model has gone back out in price.

The rtx xx60 series are already announced and ready to be reviewed (16gb vram versions anyway) and there is absolutely no hype here? Isnt the entry and low end cards in which the nvidia is supposedly grabbing the biggest market share?

No one is interested in buying or did most plan to skip this gen because of nvidia failed launch for pretty much every tier?

Not surprising because the prices are atrocious even for entry level and such little gain over previous gen.

Are there Aus prices yet? I think AMD has snagged the mid-range with the 9070xt. Low end may actually also be owned by AMD with 7800xt for $750. Or Intel b580 for 1080p gaming for even cheaper.

Not yet but it's not hard to guess. With all the added goodness thrown to us aussies, it should be around $700 for 5060 ti 8gb and ~$800 for the 16gb and ~$550 for the 4060.

Yeah looking pretty shite.

NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti (8GB) – $719 AUD

Righto. Very generous of Nvidia to give us x50 class silicon with a paltry 8GB of VRAM for under $750 AUD /s. Garbage pricing for a garbage GPU.

Terrible prices for such a low tier card. The 5060 ti 8gb for $720 just shouldn't exist. But I guess the performance is so crap they probably think the 8gb vram won't be the limiting factor. But when they have the 16gb version for only $100 more there's no reason for the 8gb version.
