I think reference check is the last thing before the offer. I don’t remember providing any references so far.
@Bec_ABS
Hi Bec
I noticed that some government agencies participating in this program also have their own graduate program recruitment process. If we are particularly interested in some agencies, is it necessary to apply for both this program and their programs?
Thank you.
@mereko Unfortunately no, there is still a long way to go. Reference check does not guarantee that I can enter the merit pool, and merit pool does not guarantee that you can receive an offer.
Hi @Bec_ABS,
Just wondering if there is any update on the number of available positions this year. Does it still sit around 220 at this stage? and when will the merit pool be finalised and offers start to be made?
Thank you!
Hi @Bec_ABS,
Thank you for your reply :)
I still have a couple of questions:
(1) When will the merit pool be finalised and offers start to be made? and
(2) Do you know how many candidates will be accepted into the merit pool this year?
Thank you again!
Hi Bec (@Bec_ABS),
I was wondering if candidates in the merit pool will be provided with more specific details about the participating agencies and available roles — such as headcounts, salary ranges, and locations. I’ve had a look at the AGGP website (https://content.apsjobs.gov.
Do you happen to have more specific data for each stream (Data Analytics, Data Science, and Mathematics/Statistics), such as the number of applications received and the number of available positions in each?
Thanks in advance!
Last year, the merit pool outcome was released on 8th July, so I hope we’ll hear the result sometime next week.
Hi @Bec_ABS,
I just have 3 questions:
(1) Does the number of available positions still sit around 220? , and
(2) How many candidates are in the merit pool?
(3) In the Agency Guide, I noticed some salaries are listed as "on commencement" and "on advancement." Could you please clarify what "on advancement" refers to? What criteria or time frame is involved for progressing to the higher salary?
Thank you!
