Unlimited 100mbps plan for $70? Has to be a loss-leader.
Tangerine is owned by more telecom who is very profitable as a business internet provider. so more helps to subsidise the costs of running tangerine who i would hazard a guess to say is also profitable
Tangerine provides reliable speed at night?
honestly its out of their control. they buy access from vocus and can only control how much cvc they purchase from vocus. its up to vocus to provide sufficient bandwidth across the network
Vocus also has a bad reputation in providing reliable and fast speed. Am I right?
unlike optus where its expected unfortunately vocus is a little more proactive with upgrades. they do use aggressive traffic management but it wont affect most services too much. given a choice though, pay a few more $ and go with Superloop, AussieBB or Leaptel

Agree, after 6 months it's $79.90. I don't recommend anyone using Vocus for international traffic
I'm on aussie broadband atm, it seems pretty good but I would also like to pay less. How would Tangerine compare? I would want 100mbit unlimited. Thanks
Just joined Tangerine on 100/40 plan. Speed test results so far for peak and off peak times

Peak time 8:30 pm single connection 27/27

stay with Aussie, they are building a much better network at the moment and will continue to grow, yes they are that bit more expensive but you are paying that bit extra because they pay and employ Australians and have spent loads of cash on CVC and a better network
Signed up to Tangerine and got activated today.
Thought I would give them a go coming from Aussie just to save a few bucks.
Speedtest at Peak Hour I guess at the moment.
Fixed wireless 50/20

Pretty bad , I think my Aussie speed test even dropping it down to 25/5 is faster than this LOL
It's pretty easy for me to churn as I have uni-D ports, will do some more testing offpeak and see what happens.

yep looks like vocus congestion seeing as your aussie tests were better. use the 14 day offer and get your money back
I think like someone else said the torrents seem to be throttled too.
Have not managed for it to get pass 500Kib/s
I could get pretty much full speed with Aussie.
Bit dissapointing. Bring back Mungi Internet, I was really happy with them.

yeah i think vocus has a shaping rule on P2P traffic on its L3 wholesale and retail services.
Offpeak torrenting isn't too bad, Did hit over 2Mib's at stages.
I guess you pay for what you get and I'm not a heavy user so it does suit me ok.
Does anyone know if Tangerine are any different in terms of performance than Mate Communicate/Barefoot?
Are they essentially selling the exact same Vocus wholesale product? Eg. if I previously had a great experience with Mate on my POI, would I notice any difference if I went with Tangerine?
