I picked up my Vita in Singapore for a decent amount.
Having never played an uncharted game, I must say I'm fairly impressed with the Vita version, despite it's gimmicky control bits. Looking forward to how the future games turn out.
and i'm disappointed in the vita so far, not a decent game worth having listed anywhere in the ' coming soon'*
I was in the same boat, but I got a good deal on the uncharted bundle and figured I could give the game away.
Glad I picked it up, it's a surprisingly fun game.
Though to be honest I'm most excited about FFX and even the PSN Final Fantasy's being available on this thing, it will be my new mandatory portable for travel!
Can anyone tell me if an internet connection is required to set it up when I first start it? Obviously for PSN yes but can I skip PSN setup and start gaming straight away like on PS3? Or would I need to download the latest firmware first and set it up through content manager?
Mines never connected to the internet and I've had no trouble playing games. Though there are some apps that won't work without connecting to the software update server.
Marketing in Sony's arena is not their strong point in our region, it seems more word of mouth, which honestly doesnt seem to be working too well.
For gaming handhelds, True, but we are also one of their smallest markets.
Other Sony products get far more love and sell very well which show's they know what they are doing, I just don't think they see us as a major target.... yet.
Well I'm pretty lonely on the PSN network. if any of my Whirlpool brothers and sisters wish to become friends, my PSN name is Hivetyrant.
Not sure what I'll be playing, but I'm sure we can have a Vita party which will be"Off the chain"
I know I'll have to buy points online, but any other downsides.
The US store has to wait longer for many PS1 games, and there are some they will never get.
Is it normal for the Wifi to disconnect when the Vita is on standby? I don't want to have to continue using the device just to complete a PSN download, but every time I leave it the downloads freeze up a few minutes after going to standby.
Mines doing the same, pretty annoying, and the power saving options are ridiculously limited.
EDIT: I should mention that it doesn't interrupt my downloads, but it does kill the wifi if it's not doing anything else. (Which in most cases would be fine, but it's slow to re-connect.)

They.... Actually look really good, I find the Vita slightly too small to hold and I think that attachment would make it perfect.
I'm sure we will get the same thing in Aus, either from them, or the hundreds of identical clones that will inevitably fill shelves.
For now they won't work, from what I read Sony are creating a ps1 emulator for the VITA.
My understanding is that it works, it's just that they are sorting out the fine details.
I doubt we will be waiting too long, they make a decent amount of dollars from the classics.
Hmmmm, no Resistance or Killzone – I wonder what that means? Vita HD remakes perhaps?
There are already reports of games working that aren't on the list. I'd say it's not final, but here's to hoping it means new versions :D
