To speed up, you can force network update.
Manual update didn't affect auto update.

Lol, manual update doesn't eff up your TV as long as you use the correct firmware. It all comes from official global sources.
is weird that its saying im on latest though, maybe cause it still thinks im on 469 even though i flashed back to 440?

Just flash v474 ota manually using USB and you'll be up to date.
Stan doesn't support 4K on TCL TVs for some reason. It's Stan's problem.
Following is a reply I got from Stan.
"We can confirm your TCL TV is not supported for 4K streaming via Stan at this time. You may be able to access 4K on this TCL TV via other services, however the Stan app does not support 4K on TCL TV's at the present time. The TV has a display resolution of 2160p (4K) which means if you connect a device that is 4K supported with Stan via HDMI you will be able to view 4K UHD content on this TV screen.
"If you were to connect a Chromecast with Google TV dongle for instance you will be able to access 4K streaming on this TV screen. However, the Stan app on your TCL directly does not support 4K with Stan.
"We'd be happy to pass your request on to our Product Team, however, we don't have anything to announce at the present time." End quote.
It's all well and good suggesting we use a third party device, and that has been my work around having a Shield TV, ATV 4K and a CCwGTV (not all connected to one TV), but given how popular TCL is becoming, and considering it surely couldn't take too much programming to correct it since Sony also has a Google TV OS and there must be considerably more TCL TVs than Nvidia Shields out there, it's time they fixed this. I would ask all TCL owners to message them in an effort to get them working on it. The more requests they get the more likely they'll act.
So the Stan app on the TV itself is gimped and can't do 4K? That was their response.
Is it the same on LG and Sony?

Anyone can check their TV on this link…

On what basis are you making this statement? Updating firmware by USB has been standard practice for years. There is no evidence I’ve found which suggest TCL’s firmware is country specific. If you have evidence otherwise, please share the source.

Whilst I agree, there appears to be targeted versions so it's probably a good idea to stick to OTA. As far as I'm aware v469 is for the 55" (local dimming due to coil whine) where as others are still on v462. Having said that, I wonder if v470 and above is for all sizes and if so does it affect local dimming.
