V562 is also for the C835
Yes, you can install it because the C835 has the same T615T03 platform, as does any C825 delivered in 2022 with Google TV, but TCL intended it for the 2023 models, C745 and C845.
Interpreting Telegram:
New TCL T615T03 platform Google TV Update available in V562.
TV models ....C745 & C845....
(C735 & C835 & C935).......(C728 & C825)
V8-T615T03-LF1V562.000747
C745 and C845 are not in parentheses, indicating V562 is intended for these models. C735, C835, C935, C728 and C825 are in parentheses so V562 can be installed on these models but they may or may not get all of the functionality of that firmware. So far it seems that V562 works quire well on C835 sets, as you attest.
@Chuggabug, probably best to leave it until TCL have looked into it if they're still doing so.
Have you tried Reset Shop and Reset All?
No...
I don't want to go poking around, plus don't want to have to reconfigure from scratch, especially if it may void my warranty.
However I would try an official c835 firmware update, as it won't reset all my settings and installed apps though.
I've just seen this TCL C835 VRR 4K 144hz Mini-LED TV that apparently can rival oled and/or high end tvs? how true is this?
It improves on LED and crappy edge-lit because of the Q (Quantum Dot) because the way the diodes work (nano crystrals) when the backlight hits them they are capable of creating there own light so you get brighter screen (not talking torch mode) important for HDR highlights and improved colour using close to full wide colour UHD DCI-P3 spec. With LED when the backlit hits the diodes it's just the white/blue then a colour filter. Where as quantum dot can red and green (RGB) on top of the filter. Samsung invented QLED but again can't do Dolby Vision. TCL stole it and improved on it with mini-LED.
TCL invented mini-LED which then Samsung stole neo-LED and Apple using in new iPad and MacBook. It's still quantum dot but the backlights are smaller down to the size of a single Pixel so even brighter and better colour spectrum. Where as compete with OLED.
OLED has better blacks still not as good as plasma but they are expensive, susceptible to bad burn in like plasma and cause of there nature (organic) don't last as long and power hungry.
Of the big brands, Sony, Hisense, Vizio has none of this tech though think Sony is now.
Therefore you could say a TCL mini-LED is the best TV you could buy when considering R&D, price to performance (in house), longevity, power efficiency and fully featured (Dolby Vision)
The recent JB sale was kind of irrestable. I believe they have hand shake deal with TCL (FFalcon) so...
I went with C735 cause VA panel (contrast) with micro dimming. I've had many bad experiences as early adopter so didn't want step up to FALD, though C835 seems the creme de la creme. I'm happy at 700 squids

This I agree with.

This I don't. I love our C835 but it's no OLED. OLED kills it. The C835 is a perfect, cheap TV (very cheap to be honest for what you get). But put it against Sony or LG OLED it won't measure up (refer to price differences though).
I still highly recommended this TV, excellent but let's not go crazy and say OLED has problems and this is the fix :) My OLED experience: A1E, A9F, A90K.

I have been running V562 on my 55C835 without any problems since Sunday, and also several of the V999 builds over the last two months. Works for me.
Parents C835 is having issues transmitting audio out through ARC... Was there for 90 minutes today and we couldn't figure out for the life of us why it wasn't working. They have a SONOS beam which worked well with ARC on their previous JVC. All youtube videos etc had older versions of Google TV and the menu's didn't line up. We also don’t have any other arc soundbar a to test sadly but I have a feeling it’s got to do with the tv.
It detects the Beam as an input (Can view the SONOS visual page) through the ARC HDMI port (HDMI 4) but won't output audio even with the correct settings. We tried the optical to hdmi adapter and it worked well however obviously there weren't any audio controls from the TV remote. Next step will be hard resetting the Beam which dad plans to try tonight. Has anyone else experienced any issues with the ARC output and specifically with SONOS devices?
Have asked him to factory reset tv first then do Sonos if not working.
We tried the following:
Turning off quick start
Turning off ATMOS in audio settings
Changing between audio settings
Tried a different HDMI cable
Tried TV setup in SONOS app. Wouldn't detect any audio coming in.
Running V8-T61504-LF1V503 software.
Trying to install V572 over an existing V999 and it says "Your package update isn't the newest, please check it."
How do I downgrade?
How do I downgrade?
No V572 (yet...)

Sorry, yes, V562 :)
What is the power-off update method? Sorry, I'm new to all this TCL stuff.
Edit: Ah, found it: https://forum.xda-developers.
You never flash IMG file ?
Must be somewhere here posted a way of TCL "how to install" firmwares...
On telegram is...

If you haven't already maybe try unplugging all hdmi cables, turning off devices at wall for atleast 10 mins and plug cables back in before turning back on at wall?
You never flash IMG file ?
Not on a TCL, never – only installed V999 test firmware via zip file.
Updating via this method will wipe all the apps/data?
Is there a way to go from V999 to an earlier OTA version without wiping all data? Crap, wish I knew this when I installed the V999 updates.
Deleting all apps/data is not a realistic option.

I posted above....V999 downgrade with V562 OTA (not IMG file)....

Hmm, after shutting down, press + hold power button on TV just turns it on.. no LED flashing or firmware update.
:(
I'm probably doing something wrong, but I've tried about 10 times and nothing happens other than the TV turns on as normal.
I'll try installing V999 Test 12 first.
