and experience long startup times
I do not have a TCL tv, but on my Sony, yes the Apple TV takes about the same duration to display on screen. It appears to have potentially been a tvOS 16 introduced 'feature'.
Would anyone recommend a 42" TCL model TV to be used as a security camera TV (via HDMI output). Any is ok? Do they have slim bezel and VESA?
Well, Ethernet is apparently 100mbps but Wifi can do 5G so speed depends on your Wifi speed. That said, I have only Telstra Bigpond 50/17 NBN with Foxtel IQ5 internet only, and even when there are two TVs in use we can stream up to 4K apps on both without buffering.
I'm not really in the market for a new TV as I'm pretty happy with the one I have at the moment (Hisense 65P7), however... (lol)
I've just seen this TCL C835 VRR 4K 144hz Mini-LED TV that apparently can rival oled and/or high end tvs? how true is this? because god damn does this TV sound like it would be a huge upgrade over our current Hisense TV. I really do need a new gpu though first haha but I do already have a PS5. Apparently HDR peak nits is almost 1100 at a 10% window so I already know the HDR shits on our current TV as well. HDTVTest is saying the UK and European models are the same too, so does that mean the australian version is also the same then and we aren't getting flapped over with different specs??
So yeah this sounds like a huge jump over our current TV and no doubt would go amazing with the PS5. Just wondering if I should consider jumping on this at EOFY sales if it's that flapping amazing of a buy at this price and put the gpu on hold for later (currently on a 1660 super but do have a huge backlog of older games to play), or just stick with what I've got and get the gpu lol.
I am pretty happy with our current TV though, but I have noticed at times I'm seeing some like big white vertical blocks on the screen depending on the scene and I don't recall seeing that before, but it's not bad enough or consistent enough yet to warrant a possible replacement as it still has about 2 years warranty left (we got extended warranty). It could be due to the settings I'm using on the TV as well, but yeah I'm fairly certain I don't recall seeing this before so idk.
But yeah how is this thing for watching movies and shows both non-hdr and hdr? and how is the gaming with ps5 and pc? anyone tried pc on it? because I've got my pc hooked up to the tv as well and VRR would be a real nice thing to have there.
Cheers.
Is the C835 limited to 10/100 LAN?
Sadly, yes. However, it does support WiFi 6 so, if your router has that capability, it is at least worth trying. I have a strong WiFi signal where the TV is located and have experienced no issues, even with DV content.
Looks like the 85" is available to order for $4,500, I expect same good deals later in the year, hopefully the new 98" comes out as well.

Yes, but you can use a USB gigabit adapter if you don't want to use wifi.
Well, it’s always in the eye of beholder but I replaced my 65X9000F with a 85C735 and couldn’t be happier. And yours will have the advantage of Mini-LED.
Only had it a few days so far, but definitely a massive difference in image quality. A bit shocked how much of a jump it has been. Though I was watching an episode of King of the Hill and had to turn motion smoothing off... looked weird as with it on.
Haven't messed with any of the image settings at this stage, just running straight out of the box. Got to say, pretty impressed with it so far.

Yeah same all around the world unlike Hisense
If you can still get a C835 at the clearance prices now definitely jump on one as fantastic bang for buck value
I'm using mine for sports viewing, Netflix, etc as well as gaming on both XBOX Series X and PC and it's been fantastic for all my needs

Awesome!
Yeah looks like it's all sold out up here. Oh well, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a new gpu next anyway if anything haha but god damn did this tv look very very tempting. I'll have to keep an eye on TCL in the future given Hisense seem to have gone downhill from what I've heard plus the bs they tried with having the exact same model names as the US version so people would read reviews and think they were getting the same TV. Absolutely disgusting practice.

Yeah the 845 should improve even more on what the 835 provided so still be solid buy, if TCL do another Spring Carnival promo for this years TV’s it’s a great chance to snare a bargain
How does one get the latest 562 update if currently running 999? I tried forcing a check and it said there was no update available.
How does one get the latest 562 update
You need to downgrade with IMG file first.
On telegram just posted V558 IMG, so once is flashed ,you can update with V562 OTA.
is 562 the latest non-test update? for c835 right?
Yup, I quite like the new menu layout, it now identifies my inputs so picks up what graphics card PC is using, the IQ5 is picked up as a set top box, etc
s 562 the latest non-test update? for c835 right?
To be precise, officially V562 is for C845 and latest for C835 is V503.

V562 is also for the C835. I have been running it for the last 4 days.
latest for C835 is V503
OK, I'd better not use V562 on my C835 to see if it may resolve the screen fault then!
May void my warranty?
