These prices are making it realllllllly hard to resist buying.
I've convinced myself to wait for the c845 even though I know they wont be this cheap for at least 12 months
The price for the c835 55 inch at JB hi-fi is still above the price with the 15% off the other day.
It also does not look like 20%, the other TVs have better prices, even the c735 55 inch.
The 3 star energy rating for the C385 is a bit of a concern. Does anyone have real-world energy consumption numbers for this TV? I'm wondering how the 3 stars translates into real-life compared to a 5 star TV.
Someone talk me out of the 75 inch c935 for $1880... Seems pretty much unbeatable value for living room
I am struggling to talk myself out of this one too.

Sorry, I'm not sure about the formula they use for energy star ratings. In most cases TVs with more stars means they aren't as bright.
Why are you worried about electricity consumption? If it's the cost, then a 250W TV will cost under 50c if you watch for 6 hrs. And that power is at the top end of the scale. If you're more worried about doing your bit to lessen climate change, then buy a smaller TV, watch on the highest ECO setting with the brightness as low as possible.
The P635 58 inch is only $488 from TGG Ebay. Seems like a steal to replace my 2019 Hisense 50R6. Anyone had experience with this model? Rtings haven't got a profile on it unfortunately.
Would like the extra 8 inches and it being a much newer display even if it's not a lot more visually striking. Don't care about UI etc as using Shield Pro and soundbar
To the C835 owners, have you noticed the coil whine that's being reported?
Apparently it occurs on a black screen. I'm keen to know just how common this problem is.
have you noticed the coil whine
Pretty sure it only affected certain 55” sets and was fixed through firmware updates, albeit at the expense of some black levels. Others might confirm or correct me.

Basically there are some 55" C835 that would have coil whine on an all black screen. Firmware version 469 and above removed the coil whine by reducing the local dimming. You would only notice the reduced blacks if you owned a C835 with version v463 and below. I don't believe it was an issue with the 65" and 75".
I had coil whine and I am pretty sure their fix was to make it so a pure black screen doesn't completely turn off all leds, thus no whine. The local dimming still works fully when not full black screen as far as I can tell (like 95% black = still inky blacks)
I was planning to revert to test #6 which seemed pretty flawless. I was getting periodic shut downs with #8 and maybe even test #7. Might try #9 to see what’s changed.
I tried #9 after reverting to V462 IMG then updating to V503 OTA, then installed Test #9 V999. I noticed that I could no longer set a channel favourite in the FTA channel list using the “Green” button. I prefer to have a short list of 5-6 channels most of the time. So I repeated the downgrade to V503 as above and sure enough I could select my favourites. However, after doing an OTA update to Test #6 via USB, once again I couldn’t set favourites but the ones I had set in V503 were still available. So definitely some way to go with these Beta versions. The thing is, I much prefer the interface improvements and the (virtually) fully functioning HDMI-CEC control of other devices via the TCL stock remote. Only the Foxtel IQ5 refuses to be controlled except for power on/off and volume. Hopefully the final release will have the bugs debugged!

Seems to have gone up overnight. Now $1990.

Easy... research the model on the AVS forums... you wont buy the 75" model of the c935
long story short a bright band of light above letterbox content

Search this thread for multiple reports and a strong suspicion that if TCL could fix the issue they would have.
So it appears at this stage the 75 inch model is not able to be fixed

I suggest that you watch this whole video and judge for yourself whether this issue is a deal breaker. Apparently it only appears in some letterboxed content. Vincent generally gives the C935 a thumbs up including his "recommended best value" award.
Given how he thinks the C835 is also a "recommended" TV of his, it genuinely makes me question if he's getting paid for it. Especially considering the extensive list of problems reported by owners on several forums.
