Ah do you mean in Temple of The Ages? I thought you meant statues elsewhere...
And I think we have also had this discussion once before! Expansions might be an answer?!

(aside from shards and ectoplasm)
And thats exactly the reason why I go down there. Picked up 3 shards yesterday when I went down to Fissure in one round. I wasn't complaining. The mobs are a tad easier down there over UW. I feel that after the recent update the drops have been better, not brilliant, but better. Edit: Which is overly contradictory considering the post you were refering to.... but then it all comes down to luck sometimes, and persistance ;) UW is harder but the spoils are that much sweeter (if they drop).

Is this to stop farming??
I think its to make the possibility of gaining Fissure armour that much harder ensuring its uniqueness and stunning factor. Though that could be hogwash considering the price for a full set will set you back some 700k, in which most (without the help of friends) will find overly difficult if not impossible already.

Why would you change attributes unless you made a mistake in the first place?
Some people have different strategies for different situations. The use of skills in a PvP situation vs that of a PvE situation, or the make up of a certain PvP team or group, depending on the dynamics of a team, you might have to change the role you play within that group.
For an example an Elementalist/Monk might have to work as the main damage dealer in the group so they would concentrate fire magic, yet in another there might be an abundance of Fire Eles or the opposition has a composition that requires the use of water based spells for slowing them down. Maybe in another situation the team is devoid of a dedicated monk, so the Ele might have to refund some points from there main attribute and switch it to boosting their healing or protection prayers, to satisfy that void. Thats just a small couple of cases for one profession. Hope that makes sense.

hey .guys,
just wondering. Whats the best Fire spell to use for fire magic ?
You'll probably get a resounding - Meteor Shower!
And what's your favourite spell for mesmer class?
Personally, my Mesmer is set to Domination magic, so for me its - Chaos Storm
How do i go to Underworld ???
Make your way to Temple of Ages! If the server your on (US, Europe, Korea) has the favour of the gods (by winning hall of heroes) you can then enter. Cost is 1 platinum, but in a group you split it so about 125g. Temple of Ages is in Kryta, south west of Beetletun.
And is it worth it to craft armor at Granite something town for 15K ? or should i just get armor at Forge ? So whats the stats if you craft the armor at Granite citadel ?
In terms of stats, the Forge and Citadel armour is exactly the same! Same benefits all around! The difference is looks! The whole point of the 15k armour at Granite Citadel, Marhan's Grotto and Fissure of Woe is that it looks totally different from the stock standard looks you see 'everywhere'. Its more achieving a wow factor when you have that armour...because you look different from the majority ;) And it shows your degree of wealth :D

Why do people buy ectoplasm and obsedian shards?
Its used for the most rare Armour in the game - Fissure armour! (not so sure that UW has an armourer - haven't been there many times). Very expensive with the materials, but still 15k a piece. Ecto and Shards are the materials used to create it. Average requirement for a Fissure armour chest piece - 30 ecto and 30 shard or 45 ecto and 45 shard plus the normal materials used to get Granite Citadel 15k armour.

Out of curiosity where abouts is it? I cant seem to find it on the map.
www.guildwarsguru.com/map/map.htm (click on "map" and change to "now viewing area 3/8") - Requires Flash
Hope this might help you. Its not part of the route you would normally take when you just follow the missions, its off the beaten track.
Without giving to much away, whats so good about going to the underworld?
The drops are fabulous when you get them, worth alot more, so more money! Secondly the amount of experience you get can level you with the completion of a single mission (10k exp). You get skill points completing them and you get attribute refund points everytime you level.
Also without giving away too much what happens when you Ascend?
Won't tell you the storyline but basically you instantly reach level 20. If you haven't reached level 20 yet, I would not brave the Underworld or Fissure of Woe. Firstly it will be too difficult for you and secondly, nobody will team with someone lower than level 20 due to that difficult nature. Harsh, but reality.
Format Freshness writes...
When you pay money to go in the underworld does that "unlock" it? Or if come back at a later time you have to pay the money again?
Its a continuous cycle. You have to pay that money again and again, due to the rewards and potential benefits you gain from going down there in the first place. I wouldn't worry...you won't be forking out the full 1k ;) and if you have to, leave the team you group with! :D

I am confident of what I am describing, although I don't know the exact boundaries.
I have not paid attention toward the lack of experience involved in the participation toward a kill but overly the drops associated. I've had issues in the past, traveling through Fissure, where I have not attacked and not participated in the actual killing of mobs and I have not received a single drop or piece of loot.
I'm a dedicated healer so my objective down there was to solely focus on keeping others alive, and as a I did, we found ourselves 7-8 groups of mobs through with nearly everyone gaining at least 2-3 drops each and myself stuck on 0. Generally it does work out fine in most cases, just there are some particular instances where these things happen, and as such there might be a bout of flu running through the code. I might sound like a crazed madman down on his luck, but it has happened abit in the past.

absorbtion runes were ALWAYS only for warriors.
I concur! Also, don't you just love the price of monk runes now :) Shows you the effect farming has on these things.
Noodle writes...
But I may be tired of being secondary Warrior.
Going to be brief -
Personally, I find that as a healer a good secondary is Mesmer, so an Mo/Me build. This is also versatile and good for a protection monk as is Mo/R.
For a smiting monk your looking at Mo/W or Mo/E. Thats if you want to go offensive.
The reason why your seeing alot of Mo/W builds is simply because alot of people have become farmers lately (me included atm), and for such, Mo/W is the best build to take on many enemies single handedly.

and ALWAYS buy skills I haven't got by other means
I follow the same pattern. If there is a skill that I haven't witnessed, given through a quest, then by all means I purchase it. To not only use for PvE but unlock for PvP. Don't shy away from buying them I say :D You can always create another char and reiterate the process if you run out of skill points further down the line, but then I have never come across that scenario.
I have heard of one person mentioning that they have collected all first and secondary skills for their char with 5 skill points remaining, given they only bought those that could not be quested after, so I'm not too sure at the amount you can buy outright without completing the quests (how many skill points you acquire per char throughout the game - excluding elites).
manfred writes...
You get a skill point every 20,000 xp - There's no limit
Ah great, as i thought. Have to question my own knowledge sometimes.
but I'm not sure why you exclude elites as they just use the same skill point as other skills.
Excluded elites because I wasn't referring to them when I was thinking. But other than that I'm irrevocably stupid.

My vote for hardest mission in the game is for Elona's Reach.
It can't be! :P That title would either go to Thirsty River or The Wilds.

What are they accomplishing by running through the story?
People like to play the game different ways, if that includes seeing how far one can jump a character through the story at such small levels then let them have their fun. Its just a different way of playing the game. You'll find though that all these relatively small monks are just people building a farming/smite/105/55 build to get cash pretty quickly.
Bob B writes...
I have no problem with that except as tau said they shouldn't be a burden.
Oh thats exactly correct. It is at his discretion if he wants to have have such a player on the team, and if he feels its more of a problem than its worth, then more power to him to kick away.
I've struck a few that just said "let me die" but they fail to realise you end up with a 5/6 team instead of 6/6.
And then to have an individual with 15% dp to boot is not going to make the job any easier.
When I play my monk I always have this negative mindset towards health not being at its max. I just can't stand seeing the health bar even fractionally low. Then when an individual dies I feel absolutely mortified, it just shouldn't happen :(
