The TG-789 Broadband Gateway can handle the higher speeds except the fastest speed does not handle wifi. I don't use wifi anyways.
Just keep in mind, if you go gigabit your router might not actually pull the full gigabit speeds.
Had issues in the past with various routers pulling just under half unless i used some fancy QOS.
Eventually moved to an edgerouter which solved the throughput issues
Now for a silly question. Is there an application, maybe a widget that displays the lights of the NBN Connection Box in Windows 11?
May i ask why you would need this ?

I presume that the NBN Connection Box will be installed where the current phone line is. It's out of view.

I don't think the TG-789 can do Gigabit even with an Ethernet cable.
I now know why an ISP modem/router is needed. The NBN Connection Box turns it into a router only.
Yes you just need a router connected to the NBN FTTP NTD.
You can BYO router if you want.

Nope.
I have checked the NBN FTTP NTD lights like twice in 6 years.
Turning your router off/on fixes most issues.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Oh right.
Funnily enough the TPG website says the TG-789 doesn't support Gigabit.
I can't find any Gigabit speedtest with the TG-789.
Have you picked an ISP yet?
I order FTTP yesterday with iiNet.
I'm getting a discount of $15 off for the first 6 months, which is a bonus.
They unfortunately downgraded my speed from 100/40 to 100/20, a small price to pay.
FTTP was installed today, took just under 2 hours. It became active about 15 minutes later.
I'm not getting the 1000/50. I'm getting 107/18, I was on 100/20.
The phone has been dead since porting it over and the phone light is still not on the iiNet modem.
What should I do?
What should I do?
Definitely call IINET support, and open a support case to resolve issue. They might still have you on the 100/20 plan, however regarding the landline phone it can take 1-3 weeks to port from another provider.
I rang them and it's still pending. I just have to wait for it to be changed over to the FTTP. I'll get an email when it's done.
I shouldn't of said porting the phone. It's still with iiNet, just moving it to FTTP from FTTN.

Come September, you'll see that in a different light. 100/20 becomes 500/50. 100/40 appears to be unchanged.
