I was just wondering if anybody had problems trying to update the firmware in their device while using the VictronConnect app from Android. I noticed that some commenters in Amazon.com had the same. Anyway, I found out that you have to turn the Location service on in Android in order for the firmware update to work. It has something to do with the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) detection. The process I went through was:
1) Turn Location service on in Android. Force quit the VictronConnect app.
2) Disconnect the Victron device from the battery. Wait 30 seconds and reconnect.
3) Start VictronConnect app. Scan device. Pick the device.
4) Update firmware.
I hope this helps anyone who had the same problem I did.
