Hi All,
Due to heat in Perth we have lost a number of services and precautionary shut others down.
Customer will notice impact to the following services:
- iiNet Toolbox and Westnet MyAccount [RESTORED 7:00PM WST]
- Westnet Email [RESTORED 7:45PM WST]
- Westnet Hosted Websites [RESTORED 9:00PM WST]
- iiNet hosted email [RESTORED 7:45PM WST]
- iiNet/Westnet/Adam/Netspace Webmail [RESTORED 7:00PM WST]
- Customers may be unable to re-authenticate after disconnecting from the internet [RESTORED 8:00PM WST]
A number of internal tools are also affected, which will impact our ability to respond to certain customer enquiries.
Update 6pm WST: Due to issues with staff access, some contact centre queues have been closed. Affected queues will be reopened once the incident has been resolved.
Update 8pm WST: Most services have been restored, Engineers are continuing to review all services impacted by the incident. Customers that were off-line are recommended to perform a modem power-cycle to get back on-line.
Thanks,
Is Tech Support affected?
Hostedmail down as well?
Hostedmail down as well?
One of the VPS systems I manage dropped off shortly before this post too.
Something happened which is affecting multiple services.
Hi Guys,
The server that supports the virtual hold system looks to have rebooted – queue is still working but your call may have moved from virtual hold to normal
@Frey also seeing issues across the hosted email platform inc. Westnet mail
Seems some website hosting is down as well.
Yes my website is down too.
Email & Toolbox both down for me here in Geelong Vic (Residential HFC Cable).
Internet not affected (yet!)
Our monitoring systems at work are starting to pick-up intermittent issues with Domain Hosting as well. Our DNS records are not resolving one minute, and then start resolving again the next.
Hi All,
Webmail is now offline (Adam/Westnet/iiNet/Netspace), POP/IMAP will continue to work
Internet is down (PPPoE error: Timeout).
VOIP and toolbox down too. VIC Burwood NDSL.
A number of internal tools are also affected, which will impact our ability to respond to certain customer enquiries.
Does this include your website? ADSL lost authentication in Mascot NSW as well.

My iiNet ADSL2+ has been down this afternoon too. I'm on the Grose Vale NSW exchange, which is a Telstra exchange. I get ADSL sync, but the connection fails when it rejects my username and password.
Thought I'd hop onto the net via my Telstra mobile, and I can't get the iiNet website. It popped up once after taking forever to load, but now it just instantly fails. All other websites seem fine though.
I think whatever was shutdown as a precaution might have borked the authentication process for ADSL customers, or at least this is how it seems from here. Any information regarding this?

Hehe I assumed iiNet had a site for their corporate users – but he obviously meant the public facing www which they call their corporate site :)
Makes sense.
I dont care about the www site anyway, more interested in why no authentication / authentication timing out :).
Likewise MorriJ. I just wants my interwebs to work!
