O.P.

I hope this is in the right lounge, move it if not

I'm thinking of getting Austar connected because I'm in Tasmania and want to watch the NRL games. However, where I'm at the moment I won't be there for a long time (around 3-4 months). I was wondering if anyone knew the cost of moving to a new location with Austar.

Thanks in advance :)

Not sure, I guess it would depend if the new place has had Austar previously and still has a dish on the roof. If it doesn't you'll need to have an installer fit one, otherwise if it has you may not need a tech so it may be cheaper.

Once you have the address you'll be moving to give Austar a call and they should know if the new address has had Austar previously, and then be able to give you the price.

O.P.

I sent an email to Austar yesterday and they replied saying the Transfer Fee was $25, I think that's a bit cheap considering a full installation is $10 special at the moment. I'm thinking there is a hidden charge for a new satellites and installation of the satellite.

Anyone have any experience?

It is $24.95, unless your moving to a remote area then it is $99.00

I moved twice in a year and had to transfer my service. After copping the fee the first time (not 6 months before) I wasn't going to pay it again, so I called up to cancel the service. They waived the fee. Something to keep in mind.

LOL dont you love the cancellation department...

there would have been a few reason why they did it. 1. you always paid you bills ontime or close to it, 2. you had no contract,
