I presume, everything will remain the same as the plan you are on, there will be no additional costs, the offpeak times will be the same, and the peak data will remain the same. The only changed thing will be the offpeak cap being removed. |

Because they want to see how a shitload of leechers downloading for off-peak the whole time does to the network. If a certain volume of people downloading with restraint does not massively congest the network, a higher volume of people being slightly more conservative would be comparable. |

Im in. Just want an ETA of when it starts, or will TPG send a mass email? Also, why is it whenever there is an ADSL 2 thread about usage increases/trials all the ADSL1 customers come on and whine about how their exchange isnt enabled. Im pretty sure it is heaps cheaper to trial/gather interest for something then it is to physically pay people to do actual work on exchanges. |

What about supper 100GB plan why we dont get 1-6 or 3-9 am d/l not counted in the quota obviously there are people who are going to miss out (sucks to be them) but I think their targetting those on the super 2 plans and those of heavy downloaders in the off peak period due to the fact that currently the super2 users have 110 in off peak. |

Not necessarily – I remember a couple months back, the usage page had be at 115 GB offpeak usage, but my offpeak speed wasn't throttled immediately. If I were you of course I'd queue up something to download during your next offpeak period and see how it goes. Anyway, this sounds great guys. According to the TPG forums the price will only be $10 more, that's pretty damn good value. One thing I'm hoping for is a slightly higher on-peak quota – Like the rest of the users I use my offpeak for the majority of my large downloads and just use onpeak when I'm impatient, but I'm always impatient. Having 50 or 60 would give users more room to move.. I realise asking for a higher onpeak quota is quite a different kettle of fish, but perhaps at least 50 would be a reasonable expectation? |

Before we release the ADSL2+ 500GB Jumbo plan, we plan to offer existing and new Super and Super 2 ADSL2+ 150GB Plan customers for Unlimited off peak downloads on Trial basis. How can anyone say no to that? Just changed from iiNet to TPG and very happy. Easy to setup and getting 50% more quota and 50% more speed for $39 less... |

Consider me in on that trial... and i thought 150gig was a large amount! If you thought 150GB is large why do you want to be on trial. The way I see this is as a test to system for people who find the current 150GB limit insufficient. |

Just spoke with TGP, Offers for Unlimited off peak and 500gb plans are not being offered yet, and probably wont be for another month or two if they introduce them. Lets wait and see. Ian C, how about you substantiate your comments before posting garbage. Dont dangle carrots. False advertising can be a serious offence. |

Trials come before the plans are released. That's the point of a trial. Don't get your knickers in a twist guys. Patience is a virtue. |

I'm a long-time 2+ customer on one of their first exchanges out of contract. I'm looking at the Super 2 plan, and have seen somewhere here that there'll be free upgrades offered to existing customers to the 500GB plan when it arrives – is that true? Will this plan likely be implemented before my next rollover date (7/7?) |

Hi,could you please let us know when or if the trial will start as no one at tpg really knows anything about it. They say there will be no trial, and to disregard the information on whirlpool. |

So far there have been two kinds of posts, - People saying – I WANT IN, AWESOME!!!! Can someone add a bit of variety and like combine the two Sample post: "What a good idea, I want to be part of thi.... wait a minute, that's stupid, networks can't handle that kind of load, AHAHHAHAHA, STUPID TPG!!!" |

Where'd you see that? That's why I'm asking – it was in some thread related to this or the 500GB and I cbf going through them all again to find it. No-one from TPG has said much about this or the 500GB plan at all, and if they did, it's been totally buried amongst all this other stuff. (I'd really appreciate it if the few facts that are available at this time can be put into a wiki or something) |

I'm fine with TPG doing this as long as it doesn't effect network performance during those times. I pay extra for the 100GB plan because I like to use the service whenever I choose, but I often do a lot of late night work and would hate to see the service become unusable during off-peak times. If network performance is effected I'll most likely start looking for another service provider. I'd also like to hear if you have any plans for greater than 100GB plans without all this peak/off peak malarkey. I honestly don't mind paying extra for what I use, but I really hate being told when to use it. For me, it's not all about value, whilst value is good, I also expect a certain minimum level of quality and I'd hate for TPG to decline in this area just to try and pull a few extra data hungry customers. |

Sigh... Why is everyone and their dog now whining about missing out or the network being under too much strain? I do believe why said "trial" and by the looks of things there are more than a few people who are "data hungry". It's not my problem if people pay a premium to opt out of peak/ off-peak then whine about how they aren't part of this trial |

I do not ususlly reply to threads such as this but I thought I'd add in that if you want to track Ian's comments in Whirlpool, just click on his name and you will see how many posts he replies to. In this case, so far he has commented twice in this thread. If there are other TPG moderators, just click on their names as well to see what they are saying or responding to. All I usually do is click on the name, check to see if more then two posts in the same thread have been made (as I have already read the first two) and if yes, then start trawling. Otherwise, just chill. :-) Regards |

How about the Premium Plus people, will we get to have a go in the trial, after all we're paying a premium in top of every body else already. +1. These new fancy plans are all the rage. How about a sweetener for us. :-) |

+1. These new fancy plans are all the rage. How about a sweetener for us. :-) People on the premium plans need to remember that they are paying the premium for more usage during peak and hence the reason for the premium. If you don't agree with it then the solution is simple, change from the premium plan if you really want. |

f you don't agree with it then the solution is simple, change from the premium plan if you really want. Where did you see me disagreeing? I'm just saying the value for money of these plans has been pretty static and a refresh would be cool. |

Where did you see me disagreeing? simply pointing out the reason why people pay premium for those plans. I'm just saying the value for money of these plans has been pretty static a company does not need to change such plans if they see no real benefit in the change, most of thier attraction will come from plans as the ones they have advertised. refresh would be cool. for those on them it would be as anything more value is always better but if there is no point from the company perspective then you can't really be surprised. |

I think in the end the difference between the super and premium plans are data vs convenience. Whatever you prefer, tpg caters for, and aims for. The premium plans will always seem tempting to those on the super plans, because convenience of being able to use it via daytime, and whenever you want is invaluable. And premium users will always at some point need more data. But the separation of these plans and priority of it’s users needs to remain, because if you merge them, you will have to compromise them both to achieve a coherent whole. Choose what end of the market you lie in, what your goal is, do you want to leech, there is no crime in that (kidding, yes there is, but let’s be quiet about your mass effect.iso or batman begins 1080p, SHHH) and the users of the premium plan are simply aiming for what suits them best. Choose your priority, either way you get a shitload of data compared to the competition. |

etc. Got enough lol's? It's awesome how on one hand, everyone in Australia will bitch and complain that we have caps, and then a company comes long and does the closest thing we've ever had to fast, unlimited downloads, everyone says "ROFL IT'LL BE SO BAAAAAAAAAD". If you think it'll suck for whatever stupid reason, stick with your overpriced capped plans, and let those who want more quota get it... There's no for hostility. |
