Dodo used to have two unlimited plans, 512K and 1500K. The 512K was $49.95 a month, and the 1500K was $69.95 a month from my recollection. They both went extinct a while ago, but remained available to existing customers only. I'm still in on the 512K plan, but wish we'd gotten in on the 1500K plan, 1500K unlimited for $69.95 a month is a dream. |

Good to see some old name held on to their plans with Dodo. I only left because they kept on changing my IP address which I needed to be static. Looks like the 1500 plan is still good value. |

+1 for 512... (at $74.90/mo as I never switched to the lower rate before ti got canned) I have a $75- running at work and a $50- running at home. Both 512/128 unlimited, dynamic IP address, and on the same plan as each other. While the only difference is cost, the work $75- drops out about twice a year. My home $50 drops out daily. My thinking is that some plans are marked to hassle people off. |

I would push for a partial refund :) You are paying for an unlimited connection that is being throttled. You have the right to a partial refund. Ring the TIO and talk to them. Dodo can force you off the plan. They cannot leave you on it and throttle you. I'm sure most of you would be happy having $20+ per month knocked off while you are being throttled. This would certainly help the dodo "resolution" staff overcome the issues they have offering the required customer service. |

I'm still on 1.5 unlimited dodo, pings are acceptable and speed is good. Never had a problem with speed even when the forums were red hot with dodo bashers. I still have major issues with their customer service of course but meh can't get 300GB+ / month anywhere else |

I have been with dodo for over 5 years, 4 of them on broadband and recently i have been disturbed by an overcharge to my credit details, further investigation found that i had been charged a $50 excess charge??? the strange thing is i've been (well thought i was) on an 512 unlimited $49.90 plan since i've been on broadband with them. I rang to find out what went on and was told that i've never been unlimited and have always had a 10Gb limit??? this shocked me as I never would of signed up for limited due to using an unsecure wireless network, i still find it hard to believe, can someone please advise me if they had $49.90 10GB limit 4 years ago??? I myself did move house a couple years ago, Would dodo have changed it without me knowing??? I signed my father inlaw up 12 months after myself joining and he is on 512 unlimited $49.90, dosent sound right??? |

Ron Paul 4 US President writes... Russel Gowrie writes... I'm seriously considering jumping ship. Im in the middle of jumping. I submitted my application for NakedADSL2 and its not a bad deal either. 32GB peak and 42GB off peak @ 24Mbit for $70. Going to miss the feeling of "unlimited" but its just not worth it. When i moved house and moved my unlimited with me it took me many weeks to get it through their thick skulls that my phone number had changed. Every Friday like clockwork i would receive a txt and a phonecall to tell me my request has been canceled as the phone number (my old number) is inactive. Its been on for a few months now but recent shaping and other serious problems just pushed me over the edge. You may leave with my blessing :-) Currently downloading torrent at max. La La. May I have your blessing too? ... no wait, actually keep your blessing, you might need it for yourself when you want to leave too. |

I'm on the 512/128 unlimited as well and have been for a few years now.... Only problem is that I want to upgrade to ADSL2 (20GB- 49.99/m) from Drummoyne NSW exchange. Over the last week have made at least 3 calls (none of which returned) to try and achieve this. Even though their website states ADSL2 is available from my telephone service and Whirpool lists them as ADSL2 capable (using Powertel Network) Dodo claim that I cannot be upgraded to this plan... They offer no explanation other than their system prevents them from proceeding and that this most likely means ADSL2 is not really available..... What's going on?? How can I win this battle with the damn bird and the dodo support staff! |

I'm on the Dodo 1.5Mbit unlimted plan and have been for a year or 2. Recently the speed is comparable to shaping, but it is not limited to between 8pm and 11pm like i hear on the forum, more like 8pm to 8am. The funny thing is, i run speed tests with one computer connected and get 1300 kbps from the sydney server, but nothing from the Aukland one. Browsing is impossible with pages mainly timing out and if they do load it is after 3 minutes and several refresh clicks. Our household is very disappointed with Dodo and intend to change to TPG, but TPG doesn't seem to offer fast churn from Dodo even though I thought they have the same seller. Has anyone succesfully churned from dodo? |

Well, I'm happy with the 512/128 unlimited plan: 28, 30, 39GB/month last three months (http://bugsplatter.id.au/netdraw/). No shaping, very few dropouts, quite good. So I'm not in the 'heavy user' group. |

Gettin back to the 300gig a month mark now. Damnit, I'm on a 200gig a month plan, want to swap? I'm more than happy to trade the extra speed I get for a constant unlimited 150kb/sec download... As far as slowdowns gone, I'll just saturate it with between 10 and 30 concurrent usenet connections until I get the speed I desire... EDIT: You should be getting 350gig a month easily, what is holding you back? |

These large expensive accounts are just carrots to get you in, again the 'Fair go' policy is a one way policy that is designed to keep Dodo's costs down and the user frustrated. 200 Gigs a month is achievable by many users but Dodo doesn't want you or is going to allow you to achieve that much download because it affects extra profit. The extra profit is the difference between what you paid for and what you achieved per month. Now that it is October 2008 and 24 months have passed I have noted that things are a little slower on occasions but I can't say that I am throttled at all. I'm amazed that retention team hasn't hassled me at all, but then again that's Dodo all over... slow and self destructive. |
