Hi,

I'm thinking of switching to Netspace Phone and Internet. I'm currently with iPrimus and have been for a couple of years and I've had NO problems whatsoever. I only want to move to Netspace because they have better internet plans for the pricing.

Has anyone had any major problems with Netspace like Internet disconnections or Phone disconnections?

Thanks.

Nope. None that have been Netspace's fault, anyway. 99% of problems are with the wholesaler (Telstra Wholesale for ADSL, and Optus or iiNet for ADSL2)

But Netspace were the first broadband ISP I went with. Been with them for over 6 1/2 years, and never had an issue, and still highly recommend them

You should have split up a couple and alot of problems. I have a few connection issues here and there, but it is mostly rock solid.

I've been with netspace for 5 years. Very little issues. However, I do live in NSW where there doesnt seem to be a trend in many issues.

On the other hand, Tasmania, Victoria and parts of QLD seem to have a slight trend in issues. Yes, it may be upstream provider and not their fault, but if I were to sign up and based upon my view on these forums and friends experiance with netspace as a whole comparing them to other ISP's I would look elsewhere.

Voted candy. ;)

Edit:

Additionally, I have noticed that Netspace tickets are required to be 'bumped' in the Netspace Whirlpool Forums, which quite frankly, is completely unacceptable.

I've had very few problems with the product side of Netspace's offerings which are for the most part quite good, their customer service on the other hand leaves something to be desired.

The problems I've encountered have almost been exclusively limited to erroneous charges and poor communication.

Agree with that - I've had a couple of problems, but then, I've been a Netspace customer for years so you expect that.

I wanna know where catherine has gone? She's hot. She hasn't been answering my whims, my phone calls, my bloodstained letters... errrrr...

Jokes aside - I've been quite happy with the netspace experience in the 4-5 years ive been there.

Heh, guaranteed never to visit again given that sort of attention!

Had ADSL and now have ADSL2+ with'em for a while now and other than the reported outages haven't had any real issues..

I switched to netspace (from cirrus) adsl2 bundle and have had no problems. When the net is out I always start by unplugging the power cord from the modem/router and plug it back in,let it sync and that and 9 times out of ten the net is fine.I have never rang phone support so I cant comment there.

Anyone get a complete offer adsl 2 upgrade brochure in the mail today
upgrade to adsl 2 and save $99 set up fee get a free gift

http://www.netspace.net.au/completeoffer/

i went into my upgrade plan section and i saw no plans in there with upgrade offer beside them, so if it is not available to me at this time why on earth did they send me the brochure saying it is lol

The poll won't give you an answer that makes any sense. By grouping the second option as a couple or a lot, the answers will skew the result.

Hi Pauljc26,
Could be that your exchange had limited ports remaining and they have quickly been snapped up by other people. If you send me a whim with your details I can investigate further for you.
Kind regards,
Brett

My 1st post, please be nice!
Anyway...

I have just switched from the dreaded iPrimus to Netspace Home Phone & Internet. The reason being iPrimus cannot provide the promised 1.5, but only 512k on our exchange with their DSLplus network (Those plans use their own network rather than Telstra's network. We did this today (14/6/08)
I have gone from a iPrimus DSLplus 3GB/3GB (peak/off-peak) 1.5Mbps connection to Netspace's 1500 5GB/5GB (peak/off-peak) $39.95/Mnth plan, after being referred to them from a friend (≤ Matt ≥)

I can't wait to get the message saying we have been churned over... I hope it all goes well & we have no issues. I will vote in the poll as soon as I have my Speedtest.net results & have evaluated the service for a few weeks.

Wish me luck that it all goes smoothly & no hiccups.
BTW, I am in Melbourne Metro

Hey SuperMacMan, welcome to whirlpool.

Hope you have a good service on Netspace. The service i've had with them has been excellent, as I said in the first page of the thread.

Feel free to ring Tech Support whenever you feel the need. They're very helpful, and seem to know their stuff.

I've been with Netspace for almost a year now (ADSL2+ 10). Apart from a line problem when I first signed the contract, the service has been good.

I haven't experienced any disconnections and my speeds are generally between 1MB/s and 1.5MB/s.

Cheers.

I've been with them for nearly three years and I've only had to call them a couple of times but not for anything major. The only complaint I have is the time it takes them to properly reply to an email query (four days to a week) and when I've called I've been on hold for 20 minutes plus before being able to speak to somebody – very trying when you're calling during your half-hour lunch break.

I have been with Netspace a lot of years and am mostly very happy with the service. I guess my main beef is with the download sizes of the larger plans. I am on a 1500 30/30 (the largest 1500) and I tend to run out of peak download, not off peak. But there is no larger download plan than 30/30, even if I go to an upto 8MBit plan, the largest download is still 30/30. They leave me nowhere to go, but to go. It is disappointing. But I have to face leaving after what must be close to 8 years with Netspace. I have written and explained the position, so I will wait and see if they have a solution.

I have my next ISP and plan picked out, I know they are reliable as I have used them at work for almost as long as I have used Netspace at home. Funny, I only used them at work because I needed an urgent alternative to Telstra Business who stuffed up badly, and it was Melbourne Cup day and Netspace being Melbourne based only had a couple of staff on for tech support and they wouldn't take an application.

Disappointingly, I have had no reply or acknowledgement from Netspace. I can only assume that is their way of telling me the time to part has arrived.

Same happened to me, a couple days later the 'upgrade offer' options appeared.

Strangely, I applied, a week later it was rejected because there were not enough ports, then about a week later again my sync speed suddenly jacked up (actual speed slowed a bit though :( ), mynetspace account toolbox says I'm still on the old plan, so I apply for the upgrade and it goes through instantly.

I hope I still get my month free, they wont let me put in another application for it because i did one the first time, when the request was rejected.

I don't want to hijack the thread, just wanted to outline the only problem I've had with netspace over the last 6 months – which is clearly not their fault anyway.

I was with Netspace for the past six months, but I've recently bought my first home, so obviously I've moved. I tried to use the "Relocate your connection" option in myNetspace, but it came back that the application was rejected due to "no ports available" on the exchange I'm now on. (Really frustrating, as the exchange is lterally straight across the street from me!) The exchange is enabled, but Telstra Wholesale is telling Netspace that it is full.

Since then I have contacted Bigpond, and they said that they CAN connect me. They actually stated that Telstra only allow a certain number of ports per exchange to be used by other ISP's, which is interesting (I'd never heard of this policy before).

In a nutshell, what I'm saying is that I would LOVE to stay with Netspace, if it were an option – instead it appears that Telstra is twisting my arm into using Bigpond if I want ADSL.

If you sign up with NETSPACE check your invoices carefully. They maybe OVERCHARGING you.

I had very few problems with NETSPACE until I switched to ADSL2+.
Since changing over to the new plans, NETSPACE have constantly overcharged for their home phone plans. Also, they double billed me once. It took me three months before I got my money back! and that was only because I complained on this forum!

I just got my invoice today and they are still OVERCHARGING me!
(home Lite plan should be $29.95/month NOT $34.95/month).

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one having the problem. I'm guessing a lot of NETSPACE customers are not looking at their invoices!

I've been with Netspace since 1996, first with dialup then steadily upgraded through different levels of ADSL. I must say, that until recently, I have been extremely satisfied with the product and service I've received. Rocksteady, reliable ADSL for a reasonable cost. However, ever since I upgraded to ADSL2+ a few weeks ago, I've been getting nothing but disconnects, and loss of line sync. I'm relatively techno-savvy, and I've checked everything at my end but it's still happening (even worse than usual today). I really hope it's a temporary thing, but it's the first time I've ever been disappointed with a Netspace product.

I'm on the Balgowlah NSW exchange; I wonder if it's just me or anyone else having the same problem.

Maybe its the exchange in your area?

Have you notified them? Told them you cannot connect.. ?

I myself have had a few issues with Netspace. More so with a faulty modem. No internet timeouts and as I'm a gamer I love the fact Team Fortress 2 is now on the Game Space server so it doesn't count to my download usage!! ^^

Any issues I have had have been dealt with by pretty friendly people and am quite happy with Netspace as an internet service and recommend them to you.
