The stability on this wireless is just crap..speed is not very good either. My computer which is right next door (let's say 5m max) gets frequent dropouts..and speed is "Good" at most. It doesn't have a detachable Antenna otherwise i would have done that. Even when connected, there is noticable delays...it needs to be faster and more stable. Btw how much mroe power does it use if i leave the WIFI on as opposed to off? (WPA protected so not worries) Firmware is 0.41..doesn't look like any new ones coming out. I need a solution guys. Any recommendation

I've got the same router, and have no speed or wireless problems.
I would suggest the problem lies with a faulty router or faulty wifi card in your PC.

Na it's just after leaving the WIFI on for 24/7 it becomes unresponsive sometimes (to connect) and in some case, undetectable. Solution is to manually restart the modem.

How long have you had the router for? When did you realise you were experiencing dropouts as described? have you tried the wireless without brick walls in the way?
I would try using another wireless device before running into conclusions, although there are many common cases like these with the iibelkin >:(

Likewise - and I'm running the wireless over a 2-storey house. On the second storey (router is on the ground floor) my signal strength is just over 90%.
There may be a problem with your router or your set up, it is not an inherent failure of the units generally.

You find that wireless standards on different wireless models can sometimes be disastrous to get to work together as client/AP. That is why it is generally better to use the same wireless AP and client model so at least they have been tested.
I ran a public wireless network that offered free (but shaped 96kbps per user) internet access and simply put certain models simply refused to work well with our Orinoco APs and generally people would have a whinge about it. There is nothing you can do to make wireless models work better together is some cases. Sometimes they will only reliably work when they establish a B/G only type connection or change the plethora of options that the wireless has for security modes/settings/whatever.
You can't say just because yours works with a completely different wireless client that it is symptomatic of a bad router. It may just be that the AP/Client refuse to negotiate a decent connection between them. Whether this means tweaking the settings/whatever will fix it just means more investigation.
With the literally thousands of wireless hardware vendors nowadays it isn't surprising that some have trouble.
My other personal view is that bundled wireless products in other hardware blow chunks bad. They are hardly designed for maximum potential of wireless and are hardly if ever a great wireless product (low signal penetration and dB signal).
By recommendation would be to ditch the bundled wireless product and buy a ultraWAP or similar better product and just crossover it to the router. Then you have a decent wireless AP to start with.

half a year ago but i just gave up.

yeah i tried it with laptop sitting next to the router..signal strength is no where near 90%

I have had the same router. When I went to set up wireless security it got 'quite warm'. Signal strength was not great. Didn't really need the wireless much so I didn't worry. Just used a wired connection to the rest of the office. Over time the modem would slowwww right down if it had been connected for a long time. 3KB/s even. By this time it was over a year old, iinet got me to ring Belkin service and they replaced it, no questions asked.

Yeah OP, ring iiNet, and get the Belkin number for iiNet support. They are normally pretty good to deal with.
With a bit of luck, you may get a newbie/refurbish sent out to you.
