I've just noticed today that my webspace can't be found in a browser or FTP.

members.optusnet.com.au/~************

Can someone else please tell me if they can or can't access theirs?

Thanks

I can't access mine either.

I get this error

Error 404 - Not Found

The page you have requested is unavailable on this server.

If you are looking for the site of a particular OptusNet member or just browsing, why not look through our Members Listing.

Doesn't sound too good.

Thanks. I missed the previous thread.

I guess I feel better knowing it's not just me :)

Web server times out here. FTP server provides a login prompt and then asks for a password, after which it hangs and eventually closes the connection.

Maybe they're deleting it for good.

A workmate has signed up with Optus just recently. They wouldn't give him any webspace.

They said to sign up to something on ninemsn.

Does anyone know the details?

I use my webspace as a homepage with links to all the sites I visit regularly. I hope it isn't gone for good.

I do the same.
I might have to put the files in a folder on every computer and just do a local host.

Optus advertise with their broadband offerings

"5 free email addresses with 10MB of webspace each"

personal.optus.com.au/we...mp;site=personal

Must be some glitch. http ://members.optusnet.com.au links to their Optuszoo homepage

EDIT: A bit more investigation leads me to the assumption that "Optus webspaces" has been replaced with Windows Live Space that you login in with any of your Optusnet email addresses

I'm having problems now, although it was fine lastnight and has been all day for me. Trying to access my webspace via FTP, no details have changed, and it connects fine but says my password is wrong and boots me off. :(

EDIT: Now it's doing the exact same thing TicTacToe mentioned. Using LeechFTP for reference, though I doubt that makes any difference.

EDIT2: Seems to be working again.

God dammit, now it's borked again! It logs into FTP a little slower than normal, then spits out a bunch of errors for a few of my files and the directory only shows a fraction of what should be there. Only the files appearing in the directory actually work. If they've lost data......oooooohh will there be angry customers.

Damn I got my LJ custom mood theme hosted on there. :( my FTP (Transmit) tells me my login is wrong, blah. Hope they fix it soon

oh forget to mention when I tried ftp://members.optusnet.com.au last night i didnt get a login box, it just showed an empty directory. Now at least there is a login again 'cept I get a 503 error.

Just called Optus and they said they're aware of the issues but don't know when they'll be fixed.

www.optuszoo.com.au/help/dsl/webspace

Then scroll down the bottom of the page... it says "Looking for your old OptusNet WebSpace?" then has links to information on how to use it, specifically this one:

memberservices.optuszoo....ebspace/transfer

You don't need OptusNet to "set up" webspace and they have never provided phone support for this. You just set up usernames yourself via memberservices, then follow the standard instructions as per the above URL.

Webspace and webmail both appear to be working fine right this instant.

My page is accessible again and I can log in via FTP now, but it's not letting me delete a directory I created a yesterday just before the problems began. I can rename it and change its permissions but it's refusing to delete. Tried creating new dirs/files and was able to delete them.
