I am on the 1500 plan and im not shaped. Below is my speed test from the AU Speed test AAPT server

Test run on 12/05/2008 @ 09:44 PM

Mirror: AAPT
Data: 70 KB
Test Time: 1.79 secs

Your line speed is 321 kbps (0.32 Mbps).
Your download speed is 40 KB/s (0.04 MB/s).

is there any way i can fix this? or do i have to churn to someone else?

Have you done any troubelshooting to rule out issues on your own end?

Or have you called their support at any stage to discuss the speed?

What are you running there? Have you updated or added any new programs in the last month? Have you rebooted your modem/router at all?

It's impossible to identify your issues with what you have posted apart from agreeing that yes, your net is slow. :)

You might want to run the test slightly longer than 1.79 secs. Download a larger file (3MB) and give it time to stabilise. The 70kb file is for dailup users.

try www.howzippy.com as well not to mention the www2.aapt.com.au/speedtest.bin

Don't forget to switch off any other programs that may be using the connection at the same time (e.g. torrents)
If you are still getting slow speeds (on average) do what the other posters have suggested.

MoFo is correct, 1.79s is too quick to get an accurate result. Also note that the AAPT mirror never works as quickly as some of the other mirrors on that site and that it is not provided by AAPT. Furthermore dialup speed is ~6-8kbps so you're getting faster than dialup but slower than you should be (from the innacurate speed test).

Get used to speed issues. Over the last couple of months the speed has been fluctuating so much, AAPT reckon there is nothing they can do about it..........

Whats the background on your issue? Are you talking pings, BT or speed from an overseas website?

My speeds have been perfect for NSW, maybe they told you they couldn't fix it because its outside of their control.
