It started yesterday - my ADSL will run smoothly, then slow, then it'll start not connecting to anything so I'll try open my hotmail and it'll just sit on cant connect or what not, sometimes I'll click links and it just sits there, nothing else loads etc.

What fixes it? CMD > Ipconfig /release > Ipconfig /renew

Then its fine for a while - any opinions?

You might need a TCP/IP stack reset. Go here.

support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

There is also an automated way to do it on that website if you can't do it on your own.

Have you logged a fault??

What does Exetel say about this problem??

What solutions have they suggested that didn't help??

What modem are you using? If you are connecting to your modem over ethernet the issue is most probably within your home network.

Perhaps there is an IP conflict on your home network. Do you assign IPs or is this done automatically by DHCP?

I had this problem when I signed up. They asked me to change my IP. To do this:
Log into your support page (https://www.exetel.com.au/members)
Click on the Account Details group
Click on the Change/View my IP link
Select I agree and click Submit

You get 30 of these for free. If it becomes something regular, you should report it so they can reset the number (if that is possible to do).

FYI, when I signed up, I couldn't do ANYTHING. The support dude got me to open to 220.233.0.9. I couldn't resolve that IP either, so that's when he got me to do the IP change.

Good luck!
