Hey people,

Just wondering if anyone knows why Web Hosting Talk has been down for the last day or so?

Cheers

It's been like that since last night. Looks like the server may have been hacked?

On the bright side whoever hacked it now has the clock showing the right time for the first time in ages lol

haha. this is so ironic.. a webhosting forum being hacked itself..
how the mighty have fallen... i guess it goes to show anyone is susceptible to an attack. who are they hosted by?

I think you'll find Gary is actually updating the forum as a newer version of VB is available, and might have not completed it because he was called away for something else ;)

If that be the case, a message advising of such instead of the message posted would of been considered a little more appropriate don't you think?

Mmm yes, perhaps you can ask for a refund for the fees you pay to use the service? ;)

How is Gary still involved? I thought he has sold that forum a few years ago?

Before that message WHT-AU was throwing database errors.

The site hasn't been hacked from what I know, just either the database became corrupted or they're doing the upgrade which is taking longer then expected for some reason.

I was getting database errors most of last night, and now the "Who put that there??" message since.

I can see the problem though. It's called vBull... ;).

EDIT:

Seems they've changed IPs too...
