Hi all, well it's been a very long short journey! If you get what i mean. Over the last month i'm sure we've all been to several interviews and some of us have been lucky enough to score a graduate job! :) So i'm just trying to make a little list here of all the people on whirlpool who have received an offer (either verbally or written) and are certain they will be taking that offer. Do not post here if you haven't received an offer, i want to keep this thread as clean as possible. If you want to ask questions to people who have received offers please whim them directly. I'm hoping this allows some of us to network prior to actually commencing (do not undervalue this!)

I'm hoping this will make future grads who browse this site will be able to get into contact to current grads and provide them the help/insight that many of us have received :)

Also I know a lot of you guys from interstate will be moving to Sydney to kick start your careers, so feel free to whim me anything related to Sydney :)

I'll continuously update this post.

I suppose people could just keep adding to this thread until the major recruitment period is over, and then a new thread can be made with the whole list at once? Would be a bit of work, but perhaps worth it? Also if other people join up later they could just post in the thread as an addition.

Actually if the thread is converted to an FAQ it can be edited for longer i think. (I used to maintain one of the ISP faq's and could edit loonnngg after 24 hours.. actually that might have been a section mod thing tho).

Edit: But yea i'd just keep this going and get it all put into a single thread in a week or two when most of the recruiting is over.

After reading this thread it made me re-read my job title and i've just realised over the phone they offered me bussiness intelligence but the job title seems different... but then again my package has problems and they had to email me all the forms as so many were missing so maybe its the wrong title. Either way i dont mind both were jobs i said in the interview i would like to have :D

I would give them a call, CBA have been quite accommodating when it comes to your preferences.

I'm assuming nobody that got through at CBA is doing the rotation thing? Or that it no longer exists :|

Nope no contact besides whirlpool for me here, I think CBA grads have an event lined up later this year (but don't quote me on it).

Haven't received much apart from the offer and a nice welcome letter from the CIO.

Oh also been allocated buddies. We have to share :)

Pretty much the same situation as this at ANZ, except no welcome letter beyond what came with the offer. Our paperwork will be sent out in September or October.

Oh, and I don't know if I have to share my buddy. I only found out about him last week, and he hasn't contacted me yet.

We only have to share buddies because last year CBA only had takenin like < 10 IT grads. This year it's about 40. So we must share :(

The welcome letter was very IT specific, nothing special, but nice nonetheless.

I want some goodies like what Westpac people may get, I could do with a new CBA bag :)

I got ANZ freebies at the information session before my interviews. Couple of cute shopping bags, the most awesome piggy bank ever, pens and jelly beans. Nothing since though :( Still, if the stuff my mum brings home is anything to go by, they pile the bank merchandise on you when you work there.

Will do, I'm actually really excited about what I'll be doing. And to tell you the truth, everyone I spoke to from Post, the people who intervied me, the HR graduate recruiter, the management themselves, they all seemed so excited and animated about their jobs. I can't wait till Feb. So glad I rejected the other offer I had, even though that job would have started in 3 weeks.

haha yer. That's an accurate way to put it. In the end, you wield the power to tip the scales in your favour. But that said, a lot of interview processes can be very subjective so it in that sense a bit of luck/timing is definitely involved !

Yep a bit like winning the lottery!

You can improve your chances by doing certain things, rest is luck.
At a bare minimum try to have a top notch resume, to at least proceed through the application process!

yea sorry for the late reply i've been super busy with my job right currently (being end of FY and all).
My PD does say systems administration... but in the Pd it said i would be doing shift work. i rang them about this and they said this was not the case. I've also been given a buddy. Hope we get to do a couple of meetings before we start work (perhaps christmas and NY parties) so we can meet each other before the big day.

I'm new here, please be nice

IBM – GBS AISD.

Adding my name too to this list.
Just got the phone confirmation, eagerly waiting for the offer letter now with all details. Don't know yet what exactly would be the work profile.
