When I bought my Toshiba Satellite P200 Laptop it also came with a free two month trial of Ofice 2007, but I'm trying to work out what verion it is eg Premium, Standard, Professional etc.

As far as I know it's got Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Excel and Tools.

If I decide to go ahead and buy this can I just get a code/serial and just keep the same office on my laptop or do I need to buy a whole new package with DVD, serial etc.

I'm pretty sure u've got the Professional edition.

I guess you don't need to buy a whole new package. I'll bet you just buy a serial number from them.

Basicly what Jobln said...
From within any of the programs click "help"/"activate product" and it should take you to windows market place where you can buy it online... Once you bought you just add the activation code and all done.

I went into the about section to see what version of Office I was running in MS Word and I "Microsoft Office 2007" SP1. It did not say anything about Premium, Professional etc just Microsoft Office Word 2007 SP1.

It doesn't matter. the full disk and demo comes with every version, the version that it becomes relies comletely on the supplied serial number. If you put in a Premium serial number it becomes a premium version, if you put it a pro serial number it becomes pro. You can even turn it from a premium to a pro at a later date by inputting a new serial number.

Basicly pick what suite you need from here
office.microsoft.com/en-...01635841033.aspx

Then like what Steve's saying, the key you enter will determine whats unlocked to full version.

If say you only need to use Excel + Word you can choose a lower priced suite.

IF you still want/need to have Access and Publisher then you need to look to buying at least the Profesional version

That product chart link above shows you whats what

I had a god look at the above link but what I can't understnd is that the small business version does not even come with Outlook and I would of thought it would as being a small business you would use Outlook for it, I mean isn't that common sense realy.

Also does anyone know who in Australia offer the best deals on Office 2007, I'm probably more looking at Office 2007 Pro or 2007 Professional Plus. But who in Australia offers the best deal.

It actually comes with Outlook 2007 with Business Contact manager. For better CRM I guess. I have never used Business Contact Manager.
