hi , thinking of signing up for aanet.
just did a plan search and dont understand the pricing on these 2 plans
kickstart 1500 15gb $39.90
1500-m1 10gb $49.90
how come the 1500 m1 is $10 more for 5gigs less then the kickstart?
or does kickstart mean that after 6 months contract i will then require to move to the 1500 m1 plan or some other plan??
thanx

Kickstart are really good plans, higher start up cost but great value plans. Don't know what happens after 6 months but an aaNet rep will answer this they are on Whirlpool every day.

dont mind the higher set up costs ... just worried after 6 months i'll be made to move to another plan ... like the 49.90 1500-m1 or down in speed to $39.90 512-m1

If that is done you have the option of selecting a plan that suits you or leaving with no penalty. You are guaranteed 6 months of a bargain at least with a no entrapment option.. win-win.

Only in the same manner that they have already answered it. They will not guarantee that it will remain at that price, but have stated that they do not plan to remove it as soon as the 6 months is up.

What I did when I was selected for the trial plan was to base my calculations on 6 months to see if it was worth my while (it definitely was). Anything longer than that is a bonus, as my trial plan has turned out. aaNet will try and keep kickstart plans going as long as they can afford to IMHO, as they are a great hook for new signups.

I think the kickstart plans will stay,(like you say a great way to hook up new signups) but I wouldn't be surprised after 6 months if you receive an email saying you are being moved to another plan, maybe with a loyalty discount if you agree with the plan they choose for you.

After the 6 month contract period you move from month to month. I don't think aaNet have any intension of moving people to different plans at this stage but its something that can happen. It really depends how you look at it though, even if it is after a 6 month period

$49.90 V $39.90

$99 Setup Fee V $149 Setup Fee

If you have the option of starting on the KickStart plans, after 6 months it will work out cheaper. Add to that the fact that after those 6 months you're out of contract, compared to the 12 months with the standards plans.

length of contract doesnt bother me at all ... being on regional adsl i dont have much choice of isps nor hope of adsl2 ... so once i find a good deal i stick with them. nor do i want to spend more then $40 for adsl
at the moment am with AAPT on an old bundle plan $40 12gig 512 speed hence my interest in 1500 speed with aaNet kickstart.
i realize aaNet website states month to month after the 6 month contract ... just worried that plan will go up in price ... or i'll be 'offered' a new plan ...
reading about aanet recent plan changes and price hikes makes me weary and the name 'Kickstart' itself doesnt inspire much confidence ...

$40 for any 1500k service is really pushing it, the wholesale cost is very close or may even be higher than that.

I'm not so sure I would trust them. You may have noticed /forum-replies.cfm?t=953125 The 'we have withdrawn your plan' email thread?

thanx all of you for your input.
am going to stay with my current provider (512k/12g/$40)
Not going to risk aaNet kickstart to only be moved later to the $50 1500m1
thanx again

3x download speed isn't discernible?

that's fully understandable, i wonder why didn't any reps care to clarify this at all?
even aaNet user like me would like to know whether we're able to get the kick-start plan as well

No, you can't. It is for new customers only and it has been explained that the reduced price is a form of marketing for aaNet.
