Quick message to see if anyone else is experiencing 5-10min page loads.
This has been occurring all day and was working fine yesterday.

Ping times are fine, everything resolves, pages load over about 5 minutes, no packet loss

Ping -
westnet.com.au - 98ms
google.com - 274ms

FTP - connects
IM - connects and works

All std fault testing has been done, last attempt was another router new phone cables.

Plan is 8Mb/3**Kb

Currently sharing another westnet users wireless on same exchange (Ocean Shores) and its working fine.

Cust support has logged a fault with telstra

interweb v2.0 suggests you may need to look into your problem a little more. =\

interweb v2.0 knows no such thing as WoW and resumes with his local issue and UT3.

Day 2- Telstra rejected the fault test, not enough info.
Just repeated the same tests to cust support #3.
New tests, change MTU to 1400, assign Westnet DNS
to client instead of all Dynamic, try test ADSL account.
Fault logged back to Telstra
--
Pros - Atleast telstra rejected it quickly and didnt wait 3 days.
- Westnet support calls me promptly

Cons - Having to repeat same info as not enough gathered. WTF?

*Have a test script, tick the box - 1 call 1 support guy.

Funking interweb.. may need to consider a career in farming. =|

Did you try telnetting anywhere via port 80?

Email works fine? Receives at (or near) full speed? What about download speed tests?

Telnet HTTP - Gets a connect though nothing comes up. Host eventually closes connection

I don't POP, I use gmail.

Tried mirror.3fl.net.au pub/speedtest/1mb.txt
I can traverse dirs though on Get it eventually times out
and the server closes the connection.

PING - 1494 packets -> telstra.com 0% data loss .AVG 76ms

A SLA would be nice now. Downtime = discount?

interweb v2.0 writes...

Downtime = discount?

Just don't talk to support about it, they can't do anything. Accounts might be able to, however I don't think they're obliged to.

Day 2 - Evening -

Westnet support called, Telstra have verified there is "flow".
I ran through same old tests again with same results.

When Telstra Check "flow" what exactly have they verified?

I believe there is another user in this area that is having a similar
problem though cant confirm this as I haven't been on site.

Checked that our downstairs renters haven't changed anything in regards to their phone line. Simple response, they don't have one.

Day 3 - More coffee

Day 3 (Friday) - Westnet advised Telstra have been to the exchange and reset a few things (kicked it with left foot)

Day 4 (Monday) - Interweb still cactus, ran out of coffee.

Day 4 - 12pm - Line fixed 500Kb down from 3fl.
Advised Telstra were having issues at Exchange and there were a few other customers with same issue.

Thank you Westnet support.
Telstra sort out your gear.
