After getting rid of the wide bars on either side I went back to the brown and blue theme and it's starting to grow on me. Good effort with the grey, although it's not to my taste. (But that's what I said about the brown initially. Hmm...)

its just my test theme really. my image editing skills arent all that good, so i just greyscaled the lot hehe. so now i know how to go about with the editing... it just takes alot of time to match everything. finding which sections to edit was the longest bit. i could even make other custom themes if anyone wants a theme done. just take a screenie and plaster the image with the preferred colour codes to the areas u want them. errrr i should get this one completed first i think

Hey Yansky - just a heads-up for you that I'm seeing a Staw Wars trooper as your avatar, not the orly owl that is in your post, if you were changing avatars and all that.
:)
Did I mention how much I appreciate your work :-D

I'm updating the avatar system to show animated gifs by preference. Everyones avatars are still stored in the database, so they haven't been lost or anything.

On the Discussion forum page, is there any way to move the "Companies" and "Connections" forums above "Mobile"? i.e. Place "Mobile" at the bottom where it used to be.

Now all we need is the 'mark' button next to each post to manually mark exactly where you have read up to in a thread, then I will be entirely satisfied :)
It was in the previous WLR version.

I don't understand why you would need that. The script should do that automatically.

Viper6 writes... How does the script know exactly which post you have read up to?
It gets the window.pageYOffset & window.innerHeight and then adds them, which gives the lowest pixel that has been viewed on the page. It then checks the position of each post anchor on the page and assigns the last anchor that is less than (window.pageYOffset + window.innerHeight) as the post you are up to. If you scroll down, the (window.pageYOffset + window.innerHeight) is adjusted so that if you scroll up, you still get the lowest anchor you read up to.

I would like it back to. Yes it should "mark" the last post automatically but sometimes, especially in the news area, i will read half way down the page and then stop for some reason.
What i used to do was mark where i was up to and then when i returned to the page it'll automatically go to the stop mid-way that i was up to.

I recall seeing mention of this error previously, but now for the life of me I can't find it. Anyone able to point me in the direction of a fix??

If you are running the latest script it sounds like you may not have uninstalled the old script which suffered this bug before updating.
Id recommend starting fresh
Uninstall your WLR script and any related scripts (or disable the related scripts)
Delete the lastRead0 and wlrSettings cookies - Instructions are here /forum-replies.cfm?t=951940&p=46#r903
Reinstall the script whirlpool.net.au/wiki/?tag=wlr_beta

OK. So who broke what now (and I swear it wasn't me....I think). In this forum I can see avatars perfeclty.
A little while ago I posted in the hardware forum and..no avatars. Checked back here..avatars are fine :(
Is it just me ( in which case I shall resume headbanging with a brick) or are others seeing the same phenomenon?
edit: uninstalled and reintalled Whirl+ to no effect.

Ok. Good theory. I booted across to (ptuh!) Vista64 (ptuh!) and could see everybody else's avatar but mine.
Tried to reload mine. Went to avatar link on whirl+ page and it returned '404'.
Should it be thus? (due to 'fiddling')

Yes.
Modern browsers cache images. They are periodically purged and that is why there may be random avatar disappearance, as cached pages expire.

Should be working now. Do a hard refresh (CTRL+F5) to reload the avatar CSS file. Animated avatars are not included by default. If you wish to include them, put @import url(http://goodbyepolar.com/wpavatars/animatedavatar.css);" in the CSS text box on the Whirlpool Plus settings page .
I should also mention that there are two changes to the avatar page . There's a box to tick if your avatar is animated and you now have to copy the herring link of your post, rather than the post anchor.

I had to add it to the script itself to make it work. Around line 743.

Just put in an arbitrary whirlcode so it doesn't get broken up. @import url(http://goodbyepolar.com/w[**]pavatars/animatedavatar.css);
I think a word is broken up if it's longer than 30 characters or something.

im releasing my WP Grey theme, now renamed to Greyscale. its not quite 100% finished but it will do for now
to use it, insert the following into ur custom css box and remove the asterix at the end of 'http' edit: and remove the gap from between a u. stoopid gaps :|
@import url(http*://members.optusnet.com.a u/whirlpoolian/greyscale/css/core.css);
if u wish to make ur own theme, simply download my css file and edit it to ur hearts content. to simplify the effort, all sections are labelled. most of it is self explanatory. i used UltraEdit for its code layout colouring and ease of use. i also used FireBug and Edit CSS aka CSS Mate extensions for firefox, which allows inline (live) editing. if u wanna do live editing with either of those extensions, i recommend to set the theme to default coz of all the overrides (!important), otherwise u may not see any or all of the inline changes
something to note is the location of the image files needed. u can download the original whirlpool ones or grab my edited ones which can be found here . so dont forget to edit the file location structure
all criticism is welcome :D

Animated avatars are not included by default. If you wish to include them, put @import url(http://goodbyepolar.com/wpavatars/animatedavatar.css);" in the CSS text box on the Whirlpool Plus settings page .
I'm sure Erwin will make it into an easier option when he gets back.

JB has updated his WhirlPosting Plus script. He's added a neat "Quick Preview" option that shows you what your post will look like without having to go to the preview page. userscripts.org/scripts/show/25926

If I qq to more than 2 or 3 people in one post, my qq page fills up and disappears off the bottom of the page so I can no longer add to it. When this happens, the Post Reply box at the bottom also disappears. I can get it back briefly,if I change the page I am looking at and don't add any more text. Maybe I should not try to qq to more than 2 people?

The standalone version still gets a server timeout.
Now when I access this thread it always takes me to the second page.

Have you put the relevant text in in the custom CSS box on the WLR settings page? See here /forum-replies.cfm?t=970...416536#r15416536

Can someone explain why I keep clicking on this thread and I am always taken to page two, rather than the page I last read?

Found a (minor) bug :-(
In the users online window, the floating menu appears in the centre of the screen. (My quick nav setting is 'right of menu')
Let me know if you want a screengrab.

I think you will find that that is simply due to the users online page using the old design.
It used to do the same thing on the herring page before it was updated

Yansky writes... I don't understand why you would need that. The script should do that automatically.
Sometimes i just flick through the unread posts to see if someone has quoted me and then use "Mark" to keep track of what i've actually read. Muad'Dib writes... What does "Mark" do? and once it is "Mark" can it be unmarked?
WP+ doesn't have "Mark". On WLR it marks where you are up to on the page. If you mark a reply on the top of a page (even if you have flicked through the whole thread) the thread will register as having unread posts.

#Added option to enable/disable animated avatars
After installing you can remove the text you added to the Custom CSS box.
Thanks skiitz for updating the script while I've been on holidays! :)
I'm typing this while in Ottawa, Canada - have been travelling over the past week from New York, to Boston, to Quebec, to Montreal, and now in Ottawa - will go to Toronto tomorrow, and head south then towards Washington DC back to New York. :D Will still be away for another 2 weeks.
For some reason I can't seem to be able to click on skiitz's link, otherwise I would update the WP+ script - right now in my hotel room I have connected to a free wifi hotspot that has an amazing upload capacity - I just uploaded 100 Mb of video in 10 seconds or so - surprised the heck out of me!
Anyway, look forward to returning soon. :) Keep up the good work all!

I've noticed other peoples Avatars only work if you arrive at the thread, from the forum directory.
If for instance you click on my profile and click on one of the threads I have posted in from there, you won't see my Av.
Or is it just me?
On that note... would it be cool to have your Av showing on your profile page? Obviously only other GM scripters would see it.
