HN do stock it. I got mine from there. I believe they're about $1199 from there. Although it could be more HN are often at least $100 more than everywhere else. For example when I got mine they had the original HTC Touch for $699 whereas I see the Touch for $599 everywhere else. They had mispriced the cruise at the store I went to which I didn't realise at the time as I didn't know the rrp and I got it for a lot less than retail so I'm not sure how much they normally charge. It was the last one at the time but they definitely stock it. |

I'm not convinced the Qualcomm 400mhz is faster than the Samsung 500mhz.. It's just that simple things like writing Notes is fairly laggy as you're writing and there is a fair delay. |

I got mine without a car kit, and now I’m looking for one, however I always got the manufactures products, as this time there will be a huge difference in price I’m thinking of eBay. But I’m no electronic expert or have experience buying from eBay. I’m not sure if a car charger from eBay that claims to compatible with half a dozen products will not over charge the circuits and blow a chip or two. |

I guess as long as it's 'usb mini' and states it's a 'car charger' i dont see how you could go wrong. Motorola V3 use the same thing. |

I just noticed on my screen, when there is a clear white page there is a bit of a discolouration (instead of white it’s grey) and only a little patch, say 3mm x 3mm. However when there is colour say a picture you can’t see it. What could that be? I’m thinking either the screen protector or a faulty screen. |

Since its within 14 days of purchase would it be replaced or sent for repairs? However as a GPS its pretty laggy and slow, I'm using TomTom6 and on the Asus A636 with SirfIII its much smoother and faster to respond even though its got a similar processor and RAM. So if anyone is getting it mainly for the GPS.. think hard. |

Because of my concerns with the ability of the Touch Cruise as a phone (thanks to the input of fellow Whirlpooleans), I emailed HTC support (in Oz). I asked if either the Tytn II or Cruise can be connected to an external antenna in order to improve phone reception. The (very prompt) reply was that there is a "GSM RF antenna port next to the GPS port. On the Touch Cruise, this can be accessed by removing the rubber plug, however on the TYTN II, the back cover must be removed in order to access this port." |

I had my phone looked at today, and we email a few pictures to HTC of that blur that I'm getting. They claim its not their fault, its due to continuous pressure eg in the pocket with keys/coins that give that problem and they will not except liablity even thou its 10 days old... and if I want they can happly replace for $150 |

If you have the Aus version, it comes with copilot, and you have the option of "Hide copilot" which keeps it running in the background with very little usage of memory or battery. This way you will always be connected to GPS. |

It picked up the network, I entered the relevant key and under 'status' it says 'connnected'. But in IE every single address I tried it would load the page saying 'not found'. Am I missing something obvious? |

Agree with G-r!g. Only after I bought a Touch Cruise outright over the net did I discover a Telstra Mobile agent who said they would have let me pay it off over the term of a plan i.e 12 or 24 months. It pays to ask. |

Anyone tried an audio adapter? I got a splitter 3.5+usb type. But I found listening is OK, but as soon as I plug in the USB to charge at the same time I get clicky noises and a high whine. Does anyone else get this? |

Agree with G-r!g. Only after I bought a Touch Cruise outright over the net did I discover a Telstra Mobile agent who said they would have let me pay it off over the term of a plan i.e 12 or 24 months. It pays to ask. |

Does anyone know how to do away with the Copilot icon and title on screen? Seems pointless, as the bottom-left hard key runs the same application. And how do I get rid of all the language files except English? Do I have to do it via PC? |

Anyone know how to get the Touch keypad to stop defaulting to ABC instead of XT9? Bit of a pain for no reason. |

I too am considering an ebay Cruise. I'm looking at one where the stock is in Melbourne... I've contacted the seller, and he has informed me it's an import, and can't verify if it'll work on Next G. I haven't bought a phone for 3.5 Years, So I'm a bit clueless. Internet on my V3 RAZR was so slow it was unusable. Because the cruise has HSDPA, this means Internet will be fast yeah? I've skimmed the thread and aparantly you need a US model that does UMTS 850Mhz, to be compatible with Next G. Is Next G and HSDPA the same thing? |

I got a TC from a local carrier after i lost my p3600i, and just popped the 3 sim in and all works. Although i wasn't worried about any of the Planet 3 or other stuff. |

That 3 stuff is part of the firmware that 3 puts on the phone anyway. Meaning on "3 Phones" would have that SW. |

I got mine from eBay, Asian stock with TomTom loaded on with Australian maps ready to go, for just under $900, when every one was selling for $1150+, but if you can get it for $1050 its worth it, dont forget Asian stock dosen't come car kit. And warranty is a pain. |

I believe the phone supports all HSDPA frequencies - it figures it out itself. I bought mine from the UK and it tells me that 3G is available i.e the 3G icon is displayed. Other times I get the H icon for HSDPA available. I use GSM on Optus at the moment. WRONG. There are two models of Touch Cruise one is made for Europe this supports 2100 UMTS/HSDPA and one for USA which supports 850/1900 UMTS/HSDPA. Obviously this means one can not blindly purchase Touch Cruise and expect it to work on network of their choice. If the TC doesn't support both HSDPA "modes" then an 850 won't help you in Europe as you need th eother one. Doesn't worry me too much, i'll be in europe for 6 weeks, I'll be using it for 3 years or so here. Ebay may not be worth it. Next Mobile in Brissy are selling TC for $1050 still, which is the cheapest i've seen. | |
