Just need a bit of feedback from people who've gotten one from IT Estate...

Its being advertised for 239bux on low stock...I know my order has only been on processing for about 3days, but has anyone gotten one from them recently?
How long did it take for them to confirm the stock?

Appreciate the feedback.

All I can say is this:

I tried to order one about a week ago.

They said it'll be weeks until they have stock again.

Plenty of people have ordered them, and paid for them, and they don't even have enough to send them out to those who have already paid.

Judging from what people have said about IT Estate on WP, a miracle just happened to me..I called IT Estate AND SOMEONE PICKED UP THE PHONE IN 3 RINGS!!! (LMAO)

Anyway, I havent paid for it, but he told me that in order to be put in a queue for the e8400, i'd have to pay. So I asked him, if i pay now, whats an approximate ETA for gettin that sexy CPU...

and the answer - no idea...there are about 50 other paid orders in queue at the moment.

On a brighter note, he was really helpful with my questions.

So i guess its a +1 for them on the service side.

I wouldnt think so..if it moves slightly then its hella dangerous fo your CPU...or in the best case, bad thermal contact = rather redundant expensive massive heatsink...

You can put a Washer between the HSF Bracket & HSF will improve in keeping it tight & will also notice some temperature improvement.

I would have ordered one from ITEstate long ago if they didn't charge $55 for postage to Western Australia.

How can there still be a worldwide shortage of e8400s? They came out months ago, and they were sold out just a few weeks after.

Ok if you order online then you need to follow up with a call to confirm what’s happening and usually things get sorted out, if you don’t you could be in for a long wait.

I have been regularly buying from them for ages, I call confirm the item or a substitute and go in and buy and I have ordered online, they have called me if the item is not in stock.

Hey guys
So I ordered a system on sunday night, I was having some problems with my net, it was very iffy, but I got the reciept fo the payment by email. Next morning at 9:30 I get an e-mail from It estate saying they got my payment but no order. So I wrote back to them with the parts I ordered and all the options etc and asked them wat the ETA was. The guy said that they were out of stock on 8400 and the graphics card I ordered and it would probably come in their second shipment which would be in two weeks. Overall I was quite happy with customer service, they wrote back immediately and the guy didnt try to tell me that they had it in stock or even that it would come in the next shipment like most places I have used previous.

lol - they're really not worth the wait :P

The E6750 is cheaper and almost as fast, really...

We're only talking about a 10-15% speed difference - which is absolute bugger-all in CPU terms... the video card is almost always the bottleneck in gaming at present.

And everyone knows that gaming is the only thing you can do with computers :P

Except when you get to things like video encoding that require CPU grunt that things change and the extra CPU cache does help.

These processor benchmarks show the E8400 to be consistently faster than the E6750.

That was the only option I saw on the site. I was tossing up whether to get my case from them or locally. The case made no difference to the $55 postage so I thought I'd get my value's worth from it (and save myself a trip to Austin).

i bought 2x E6850 OEM's for $230 each about 6 weeks ago, then got 2 intel coolers for both for $15 each, and the place i bought these cpu's from still has some left, pluss some E6300 and E6400 as well, but they are all engineering samples imported from usa and are fully tested and benched before sending to the buyer.

mine arrived in opened packages and still had the thermal paste on them from the cooler when they were tested.

i have one running in a gaming pc and its running like a dream.

the place i got them from sells them for $250 but if you haggle he will drop the price like he did with me.

no they are the stock intel coolers that normally ship with the Exxxx series cpu.

i think all 775 coolers are about the same but the ones i got were bought from a guy who had them left over from his 2 E6750 processors because he bought aftermarket coolers for them.

they look just like my Q6600 cooler

Yep, just noticed the E8xx series has made their main PDF pricelist now, rather than just their HTML list. And yes, E8400 has gone from $269 to $299. Conversely though, the E8200 I purchased from them for $243 a month ago has dropped to $223.

Also building one for my friend who ordered on the 11th, he was 50th in cue. So for people who are waiting, thats an idea on cue time for u. However Kudos to ITestate, both times I have caled them (around 1 pm) they have picked up straight away and they dont bullshit around with me, they tell me straight wat I am in queue and when/size of next shipment they should get.

My local shop here in Sydney says they have stock of the E8400 listed on there web site for $251.80. That only $12.80 more than Itestate, Without the long month wait to get it. And still cheaper than what most other people are charging. Now just need to decide motherboard and memory to get to go with the cpu.

PLE are selling them for $259. They have 5 in stock as of yesterday afternoon at the Wangara store (not sure about the Bentley shop).

I called IT Estate yesterday to get an update on the e8400s. Spoke to Lily, who said that I was 20th in the queue, and that this would probably mean around 1-2 weeks. It seems their distributor can confirm the 8200 and 8500 but not the 8400s.

At any rate, she was perfectly happy for me to cancel the CPUs from my order and refund the money, so I immediately sent my wife in to PLE on her day off to deplete their e8400 stock from 7 to 5 :)

It seems these E8400 cpus are the only thing that the longer you wait, the more expensive they get. And in regards to the wailing list at Itestate, by the time you get one there will probably be something new to replace them.

On Fluidtek. I was responding to g1234567. He said the CPU was available for AUD $238 from Fluitek.

Today (29/4/2008) one per customer $235 @ fluidtek. No bundle purchase required.

Pretty sure he still has plenty left.

All those with orders outstanding at Itestate should just cancel and goto Fluidtek insted to get there cpu instantly.

LOL! It says "NO CONDITIONS", then it says "1 PER CUSTOMER".

P.S. This site seems really dodgy to me.. I can never find anything here.. Ok.. Let's go get that Core 2 Duo. www.fluidtek.com.au/category118_1.htm No items.

Ok, I wonder if they have the motherboard I want. The Gigabyte GA-EX38-DQ6. www.fluidtek.com.au/category70_1.htm No Gigabyte motherboards in the Gigabyte category?

P.P.S I can't even find a phone number or an e-mail address. Also, the site design is horribly disorganized.

No conditions means you can buy cpu without any other product he normally has it bundled with. Although your right, 1 per customer is a condition.

Catagories are never updated so diregard any pricing there as usually out of date. Usually just go with thatever products and pricing is on the main page then if you want more just ask when you get to the store.

Usually he stocks Gigabyte as his choice of Motherboards over Asus, so he would probably have that one in stock.

No phone number so in store pickup only. But there are email addresses and a fax number down the bottom righ hand side of the main opening page

Cool. Any idea of how long it would take me to get an E8400 if I ordered today along with a Gigabyte GA-EX38-DQ6?

I've forgotten my login, and I tried to use their forgotton login feature when I unsuccessfully logged in, and the page doesn't exist. Anyone else having this problem?

Ohh... You see that's going to be a problem for me, as I have no idea of where Carlingford is. I'm guessing it's somewhere around Sydney. I'm about 600KM from Sydney.. So they don't do deliveries?

Edit: concatenated response

nope they don't. You'll have to get somone who live locally to buy one for you and get them to post the cpu to you, join the long waiting list at Itestate or buy from somwhere localy near you.

P.S. your profile does say Sydney. So you better update it if you've moved recently.

It only says that because I think I had to put in a postcode or something, but I wanted to remain anonymous, so I put in 2000.

Seems not all of their stores do it and maybe only if they are low at the time on specific CPU stock.

True but it's better to be aware you might have that 'policy' thrust upon at the last minute you before you go there to purchase.

At least IT Estate & Fluidtek appear upfront about it on their websites.

I rang around for ages to get mine.. About a month ago MSY, IT ESTATE, CENRTRECOM, blah blah were ALL out of stock with a ridiculous waiting list, and thier prices were $265 So I called up Next Step Computers In Melbourne (a local Store) and picked up thier last one for $280..

I didn't really care about the extra cost since I got it straight away. I considered myself lucky.. I guess
