MyNetFone continues to offer excellent Whirlpool special offerings:
MyNetFone offers two Whirlpool promotional plans – WhirlpoolSaver and NeoSaver
MyNetFone has two special service offers for Whirlpool members to take advantage of, as well as their friends, families and business associates.
These plans are based on feedback from the Whirlpool community; we hear you want great value, no hidden charges, great voice quality, per second billing and great customer service – as well as some FREE stuff!
The below schedule outlines each plan offering, see below for instructions on what you have to do to gain access to these plans:
WhirlpoolSaver Plan Local/National Calls 10c/Untimed Australian Mobile’s 15c/Minute (per sec billing) FREE DID Yes Monthly FEE $0.00/Month Included Calls 0 Calls Global rate From 1.9c/Minute* (per sec billing) SMS 10c each
*Please see for full International rates: https://www.mynetfone.co...ernational-rates
NeoSaver Plan Local/National Calls 60 FREE, then 10c/Untimed Australian Mobile’s 15c/Minute (per sec billing) FREE DID Yes Monthly FEE $4.95/Month Included Calls 60 Global* Calls Global rate From 10c/Untimed to “Global*” countries* SMS 20 FREE, then 10c each

https://www.mynetfone.co...offers/whirlpool
*Countries that are not NeoGlobal incur standard International rates:
https://www.mynetfone.co...ernational-rates
You wanted it, and MyNetFone has delivered with the knock out double punch, per second billing and a low low low Mobile rate. We may not be the cheapest out there, but we’re pretty close, and we will try our hardest to keep your custom with vastly superior customer sevice, reliability & Self-service account portal!
We continue to offer per second billing for both of the plans on Australian Mobile Calls, and are now offering 15c/minute on the NeoSaver plan.
We have bundled a massive 60 FREE Local/National calls on the NeoSaver, taking the effective rate to 8c/untimed for those included calls.
We have also bundled some SMS’ on the NeoSaver plan, and lowered the effective rate to 10c/message for Whirlpool members – Remembering that MyNetFone allows you to send the CallerID of your mobile, so replies are sent back to your mobile phone, all setup easily and painlessly through the MyAccount portal.
Note that due to the low low prices on the WhirlpoolSaver and NeoSaver plans, we regret we cannot offer reseller commissions on these plans. These plans are for promotional use only and not to be resold individually. ;-)
All prices include Australian GST, and we provide free monthly Tax Invoices via email, and a real time MyAccount portal.
Frequently asked Questions
How do I access these service plans:
If you are already on the WhirlpoolSaver or NeoSaver Plan, you do not have to do anything.
If you are not a member of MyNetFone, and would like to be, simply navigate to https://www.mynetfone.co...offers/whirlpool & choose the product that best suits your needs – Remember we offer both hardware specials, as well as BYO accounts.
Can I change my current service plan?
If you are an existing WhirlpoolSaver user, or NeoSaver user, you can swap between these plans at any time – by logging into the MyAccount portal on our home page. Note that when you swap to NeoSaver you will be debited a pro-rata monthly fee based on your billing cycle, and you will be given pro-rata included call credits. If you downgrade from NeoSaver to WhirlpoolSaver, you will not be given a pro-rata refund, and any remaining included call credits will be lost.
If you are not an existing WhirlpoolSaver or NeoSaver user, you can still swap to these great services. Simply send an email to buy@MyNetFone.com.au with your MyNetFone number (09xxxxxx) & the request to change your plan
Note that you cannot change to WhirlpoolSaver & or NeoSaver if your hardware was purchased as part of a promotion, such as the Christmas Madness sale/new year madness Sale/March Madness Sale etc, until your minimum plan commitment – if any- has been met. You can change your plan after the conditional period has expired; check the terms and conditions of the promotion for the full conditions.
Note if you choose to change your plan, you are liable for any Monthly fees associated with that plan, and monthly fees are not refundable.
What does NeoGlobal* mean?
Global refers to the countries MyNetFone deems as being able to be called for 10c/untimed on the NeoSaver Plan; the full list of 31 countries is available on our Whirlpool Page here:
www.MyNetFone.com.au/offers/Whirlpool
What is SMS?
SMS is an acronym for Short Message Service, and you can now send SMS messages from our accounts portal to any mobile telephone in the world that is capable of receiving SMS’s.
Not only that, but your mobile telephone number will be displayed as the sender, and the recipient will be able to respond to your message, you receive their reply right to your handset.
Login to your account now, go to MyText SMS, register your mobile phone number and start sending straight away!

MyNetFone enhances GlobalAccess with new Access numbers
GlobalAccess is an enhanced Service feature from MyNetFone, and it is something that I absolutely love, and hope you all will too.
With GlobalAccess, you can make calls using your MyNetFone service without any VoIP-enabled equipment or VoIP phone system installed. Simply dial into your local Global Access number from a pre-registered telephone number (Global Access point) and then call via your MyNetFone service.
Simply register your GlobalAccess point by logging into the MyAccount portal, go to MyService options, and select GlobalAccess – Register any number you like, and as many different numbers you like as well.
To use GlobalAccess from then on, simply dial one of the below access numbers, enter the number you wish to dial and we will connect your call, enjoying our excellent rates to that destination in the process.
Up until now, MyNetFone has only had Access numbers for Sydney and Melbourne, no longer!
I quietly promised you all that we would deliver with more Local Access numbers, and they are detailed below.
I recommend everyone try it out, remember that the Global Access Service can be used by anyone with a MyNetFone Account, for no additional costs, and the GlobalAccess Service works throughout the world, you can even use it to call someone next door, on a mobile, in another state, and of course Overseas:

MyNetFone peers with PIPE networks
MyNetFone would like to announce to you all that we now peer with Pipe networks in NSW.
If your ISP peers with Pipe as well, then DATA Traffic between you and MyNetFone may go uncounted against any monthly quota, depending on how your ISP Bills for traffic internally.
Therefore if your ISP has FREE DATA through PIPE, why not switch on G711A, and enjoy what we call "Guilt FREE PCMA" (almost like a drug!)

Does this mean that you have CHANGED the actual numbers or have you added MORE access numbers. The MNF website doesn't seem to reflect the latter.
EDIT: OOPS -- spoke too soon. You must be typing it as I read it.
Reminds me of the Lucky Starr song, "I've Been Everywhere"

Or Caboolture, which is a major city just north of Brisbane.
You can get a DID on the Sunshine Coast, but that's still a STD call to Caboolture as far as I know.
Mind you in Tullamore a few tin cans and a ball of string would just about cover the whole township. :-)

Caboolture is a suburb 50 km north of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. Caboolture is considered to be the northernmost urban area of the greater Brisbane metropolitan region within South East Queensland, as it marks the end of the Brisbane suburban commuter railway service along the North Coast railway line.
Population now would be close to, or over 20.000 people, and the area is well known for strawberry farming as well as pineapples.
Nambour is the closest large township and inland from the Sunshine Coast, which in realality is a name given to the whole area.

I recently signed up with Pennytel, as it has got very good offer currently for India - Mobile i.e. 38.8c untimed.
I have read a lot of good things about MNF on WP, but unfortunately MNF does not offer untimed calls on mobiles for India, they do offer very good untimed rates for landlines in India. I will be waiting for something similar to Landlines in India from MNF.

Not knowing what your configuration is, I would suggest power cycling your modem and your router.
I presume that the TA612V had been working. The flashing orange lights indicated that the TA612V has not registered with the MNF Proxy Server

Can you turn OFF and then ON your modem and your router.
If that fixes it, the TA612V should take a couple of minutes before it registers, in which case both Phone Lights will turn green

Before you start changing everything and losing a point of reference, since the time when the TA612V was working, had you changed anything in your configuration.
PLEASE NOTE: It may take a few minutes for the TA612V to register
Also can you please make sure that you connect the "Internet" port to the router LAN port.
.... and it would help if you filled in your profile. At least this would help to provide some idea as to your setup.

Also short of filling in your profile, can you provide details of your modem and ISP

Because the TA612V was working, I feel that it would be inappropriate to get you to change any of your modem/router settings.
Also which modem/router was the TA612V working on? I would re-connect that one.

G'day Brent,
I went last year and had a great time, very useful.
I'm registered to go again this year, but the cost of the VoIP conference is much more expensive than I paid last year. ($595 vs $199). There was an earlybird discount of $100, but it is still expensive.
I remember I had a discount voucher from you guys, so that may have lowered the cost - are you guys doing anything like this year?

Nope, I have free my entry to CeBIT. That's sorted.
I'm talking about the VoIP & IP Comms Conference at CeBIT. Somehow I got it for $199 last year.
It may have only been $299 less a $100 earlybird discount last year. This year it it is a whopping $595. Are you going to have any discount vouchers for the conference (as opposed to the Expo).
Saw one of your guys, Andy give an interesting talk on VoIP over satellite at it last year.

Where on earth was I when this announcement went up ... must have been sleeping! This is fantastic news. I thought the WGR613V was cheap enough before, but now it's FREE ... my favourite word.
And GlobalAccess is all over the country as well (well, not ALL over, as some people are posting). Well done MNF - this is really good news. Any plans to extend this outside the country, to make it truly Global? Would sure be useful when I'm travelling!

Agreed, but I'm wondering if there is any possibility in the future of the Global Access feature being set up with some kind of login system so you didn't have to pre register numbers and could just use it anywhere you had access to a phone?

That's what I was wondering, normally you are all over this :-)
Any plans to extend this outside the country,
I will look into whether we can get New Zealand Access numbers first.
Other areas outside of Australia are orders of magnitude more difficult to offer numbers for, however be assured that I will continue to fight the good fight on this end to get numbers as soon as we can.
As to the suggested larger regional areas, leave it with me.

Brent Spargo writes... MyNetFone enhances GlobalAccess with new Access numbers
Hi Brent
What will be the rates used for billing the calls made through Global Access?
You indicated that even international calls can be made using Global Access. If we make international calls, will the calls be billed at standard MyNetFone international call rates or will the calls be billed at whatever plan you are on. For example, if I am on GlobalSaver plan and make use of the GlobalAccess privilege to call India, will my calls be billed at GlobalSaver rate?
Also, are there any plans to include INDIA MOBILE to the GlobalSaver plan in the near future? I would be very much interested in joining the GlobalSaver plan if INDIA Mobiles are also included.
Thanks

Would be good to have Mount Gambier SA with an access number. It is the 2nd largest city / town in South Australia (Adelaide being the obvious biggest).

Hi
What will be the rates used for billing the calls made through Global Access
Whenever you utilise GlobalAccess, the rates are the same as if you made the call yourself through VOIP.
So to answer your question, yes!
are there any plans to include INDIA MOBILE to the GlobalSaver plan in the near future? I would be very much interested in joining the GlobalSaver plan if INDIA Mobiles are also included
I will have to look into the viability first, and will try and get back to you all regarding your requests.

Hi Brent, I notice the whirpool saver plans are per second billing to mobiles, what about the normal residential and business plans? As I am interested in offerring MNF to my customers and per second billing would be very advantageous.
Cheers, Dave.

So you're saying that the TA612V had worked for BOTH the Draytek and the Zyxel -- is this correct?
It's probably a MNF problem but it's important to provide them accurate information. You really don't want to go on an adventure where you start changing all of your settings.

The big thing preventing me from using it often is that I can't pre-register numbers, as I move around a lot - is there a way to authenticate using a PIN like a calling card so that I can use it from any phone?

Brent, I notice that Bangladesh, India etc landlines are now on the GlobalSaver untimed list. Does this also apply to the Whirlpool NeoSaver (they're not listed, but I thought perhaps the updates haven't made it through to the NeoSaver page).

I would prefer ANI callback in addition to this Global Access Number system. With ANI, you only have to enter one number into your mobile, for example, that can be used wherever you are in Australia, no matter whether there is a global access number in your area or not. It also works out cheaper, as both legs are charged at VoIP rates.
With the global access system, one leg is charged at traditional rates. If you are using someone else's phone, a charge will appear on their account, whereas with ANI callback, there would be no charge at traditional rates as both legs would be charged to the VoIP account.

Except that some of us get plans like the old 3CDMA rates (24c for 10 minutes to landlines) and for us, global access is great for that for calling other mobiles or overseas!

Changing the codec is done on the ATA. How it is done, is dependent on the make & model of the ATA. The use of G.729 is a consideration if one is bandwidth constrained. If that's not the case, as in PIPE, then you can afford the better audio quality by using G.711

It's strange your results are so bad... you are in Sydney, so that's ok since MNF are peering with PIPE only in NSW at the moment...
I notice there is a 48msec in there, so your connection is capable of very good ping times, I'm wondering if your last mile is congested, or maybe your exchange. Were you running anything else at the time of the pings? Try making sure nothing else is connected, also check at various times of the day.
BTW: 300msec is still acceptable for VoIP, but it is a concern the ping time is so big, and the variation (jitter) is so big too...
Anyway, what's the voice quality like? That's the important part?

No, I was not doing this from a wireless Client. I had utorrent running and 2 torrents seeding at the same time and using up the entire upload bandwidth. When I stopped seeding and exited utorrent, the ping times came down to 29ms. So I think that seems to be the problem.
My wife told me that sometimes when she is using VOIP, call quality is not that great even to friends that are in Sydney and using MNF VOIP. She also indicated that there was call quality problem even to a landline this past Monday.
I am at work right now. But, in the evening, I plan to change the codec on the SPA2100 to G711A and see how it goes. Over the weekend, I was trying to talk to my friend who also has MNF VOIP and found that I could hear him, but he could not hear me. Hoping that changing the codec might help.
Will let you all know how things are going.
Thanks for the help

I think you are absolutely right!
Is your modem/router capable of QOS? If so set that up. I don't remember what bandwidth to allow so someone else might be able to help there. It is probably in one of the previous threads.
I have QOS setup on mine and no problems and I torrent 24/7. (It is amazing how many people want those Linux distros :D)

I am using BIllion 7300G and from knowledge, I think it is capable of QoS. I thought I checked into the setup of this last June when I joined MNF. I will look into this again tonight.
I was under the impression that bandwidth management is automatic. Can anyone suggest what bandwidth to allocate for QoS.
Thanks

Hi Brent
Thanks for your reply. I have logged a ticket to get the codec changed remotely.
Hope it improves the call quality with some of the numbers I call. As it is the call quality is not that bad to some of the numbers I call whereas for other numbers it is really bad.
My sister also has MNF WhirlpoolSaver and whenever I call her, the call quality is so bad that we have given up using MNF and call her on their Optus landline.
Infact, she has joined GlobalSaver last month and reverted back to WhirlpoolSaver because she indicated that the call quality to some of the Indian landline numbers was horrible.
Hopefully, MNF can improve the situation regarding call quality to India as time goes on.

Basically changing the codec to G.711 will not help your circumstances -- probably make it worse. The sad truth of the matter is that VoIP requires some bandwidth. The fact that the person at the other end can't hear you is a clear indication that you are running out of uplink bandwidth.
G.711 requires 100kbps and G.729 requires about 30kbps. The bandwidth of your uplink ultimately determines the overall quality of the VoIP voice audio
QoS may help you but you will need to reduce the MTU to 576 bytes for it to be effective.
My advise -- DON'T run Bit Torrent if you want quality VoIP. Run Bit Torrent only in off-peak times.

While G711A will provide uncompressed quality, it will not be able to fix any underlying causes of poor call quality, such as Packet loss, latency and Jitter.
So be assured that we will indeed change the codec for you, but be aware of the above reasons for poor call quality.
MyNetFone stands by both of our codec's (G729, G711a/u) and ensure that they both deliver a PSTN like Service.
Regarding your calls to India, please raise a ticket to our support team, and if you could kindly provide as many numbers as possible, so we can nail down the specific problem and address it with our carrier.

Well I don't really need it, I do have a 7402vgp with a dead voip circuit. I'm waiting for an all in one wireless N device to be released in the meantime.
Besides I already have $36 of credit which is going to take me ages to use anyway. And with 3 existing voip numbers it's all becoming just a bit confusing haha!

No it isn't, but we can offer you 10c/untimed to Bangladesh on the GlobalSaver plan:
https://www.mynetfone.co...ices/globalsaver
You can easily and seamlessly upgrade to this plan anytime, through the MyAccount portal, by logging into your account through our website.
Conversely, you can downgrade anytime as well, by sending an email to buy@mynetfone.com.au
* Edited for Clarity.
* Note, any outlay of Monthly fee's for GlobalSaver would not be refunded if a change of plan is enacted.

That's an interesting question, as I thought that once you move over to the plebs plans, then the Whirlpool plans don't appear on the Plan pull-down selection (in My Service Options)
I guess you could always raise a Support Ticket to change it back

Sounds fine, but be aware that your uplink bandwidth is close to the 100kbps requirement for the G.711 codec. Using G.729 should be fine.
I am planning to switch over to global saver plan if I like voip.
If you don't plan to talk in any length to Bangladesh, Pakistan, Philippines, India or Vietnam, then you should change to the cheaper NeoSaver Plan rather than the GlobalSaver Plan. The "FREE" calls in the NeoSaver Plan are effectively cheaper than those of the GlobalSaver Plan.

Got my new Netgear 613 this morning.
Up and running well!
Only problem I had was that I was instaling it behind my Netcomm NB6Plus4w.... and it did not like it.... the documentation said "connecting to another router is not a supported NETGEAR network configuration". So it would not connect to the internet.
I overcame the probelm by forcing the NETGEAR to have a fixed IP address of 192.168.1.20 (which is within the modem's range) - and both the modem and 613 accepted that.
What a great little unit!
Regards,
Harry.

Didn't know there was a new offer, I've been on WhirlpoolSaver plan for more than a year, and this morning I decided to change to NeoSaver, which I did, so MNF charged me $4.95 from my account.
Then a little later, I went to MNF/whirlpool website and saw the offer for WGR613V, so I ordered the device with a NeoSaver plan with instruction to merge to my current account. I received email confirmation saying MNF will charge $24.95 to my credit card.
My question is, does this sound like double-charging?
PS: I already sent a WHIM to Brent, hope he can respond shortly.

When you buy the new WGR613V you'll have a new SIP account associated with it, independent from, but linked to, your existing NS account. However this means you will now have two NS accounts taking $4.95 per month each from your credit card.
You'll have to change your NS account back to WPS (the one you converted this morning before ordering the WGR613V) but it sounds like you'll have wasted $4.95.

probably what I can do is, change it back just before 1 month from today, so at least I can use the free calls. what do you think?

Yes sounds like a plan. So by the time you get the WGR613V tomorrow, you'll have 120 calls to make by the first few days of May. Go call total strangers in the Ukraine and make friends with them!
Edit: Whoops, sorry, Ukraine is not covered. But you know what I mean ;-) Call the US! Some small farm town in Kansas!

Have a look at au.billion.com/forums/in...p?showtopic=9738 - Garfin has advice there.

Hi Brent,
I just called a mobile through Global Access (Toowoomba location)
It worked great, I just have one question. When using this feature does it use my Internet service to make the VoiP call or not? I dont understand how it works??
Anyway, it worked really good :)

My ping stats to sip00.mynetfone.com.au: Packets: Sent = 120, Received = 120, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 15ms, Maximum = 28ms, Average = 19ms
Is that ok?
