vodafone usb modem

I can't speak for the usb version, but look here first:
www.vodafonebetavine.net/web/linux_drivers
www.howtoforge.com/vodaf...ard_driver_linux

Then:
www.pharscape.org/compon...ontpage/Itemid,1
www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~dnc25/vodafone3g.html

The data card talks as a USB device in my case. You may find that a driver is not required and the controlling app may suit on it own.

I've been told that it's as easy as plugging the thing in and starting the network wizard (or whatever is called)...

Another tick for the eeePC. Was waiting to see if this would be possible.
Great to use on the road (blogging, web sites, email, support etc. etc).

Steps are pretty basic it doesn't even matter if you are a newbie to computers in general...

Plug the USB modem in and then run the Network Wizard to create a new connection. You have to answer a few simple questions in the network wizard but the hardest questions are things like what country are you in and what service provider do you wish to use from drop down menus - if you don't know that you live in Australia and that your provider is Vodafone then you probably shouldn't sign up for the service LOL. It really is that easy.

I was warned by Vodafone that it wouldn't work but I tried it in the shop anyway with the salesman watching and was on the network within about a minute.
