As for the text overlay, it's GeekTool set up to show in an unobtrusive way. Half-transparent white-color text font on a fully transparent background. It's outputng

- IP details

4 - Looks like Adium to me with custom icons.
6 - VMWare Fusion (run windows on your mac in a virtual environment)
7 - Graphic Converter (utility comes standard in OS X)
8 - Adobe Photoshop CS3
9 - Adobe Illustrator CS3
17 - Toast (CD/DVD burning program)
18 - Apple Remote Desktop (control other computers from your own)
19 - Terminal (comes with OS X)
21 - not sure what this app is :P

Hope this helps.

7. Graphics Converter (oldest app ever :p )

18. Apple Remote Desktop Admin
19. Terminal
21. TPG Download Meter

You'll also notice Mail.app is faded. I like indicating if the app is hidden or not.

How to: Open the Terminal and copy & paste this line

defaults write com.apple.dock showhidden -bool true

then

yep it is now, hehe it did work when connected to power however the battery was buggered,

while we were out there hunting that day I also had a Green Mini that ended up being shot with different rifle (for those playing at home it was a .204R using a Tikka T3) I might use that one for next month's desktop

I have still got another couple of ipods however when my 40GB 3rd gen one stops i am going to see what is like after I shoot it with a 12G shotty

For those that read about the USMC Soldier that was saved from a bullet from his ipod I thing the Myth was busted ;)
