My dad's got this laptop, and although it runs OK with Vista Home, I'm sure it would run a lot better with XP. A few programs don't seem to work properly with Vista either (eg earlier versions of Outlook).

So I'd like to put XP on there. I've got an XP SP1 install disk that came with my PC. I also have Toshiba XP CDs that I used to 'downgrade' from Vista Business to XP.

Are either of these disks likely to be suitable for putting XP on this Acer machine, or do I need a specific XP disk for this notebook?

Cheers!

actually its ok to use these disks to install XP. but you should have the SATA drivers integrated to the disks or else you have to change the HDD mode into IDE.
also you will have a little problem with the WLAN. I tried almost every possible driver but it is not recognising the device.
