Can I get it and use my optus sim with it?
I know Optus are selling the 750i for $200. Which has the better mp3 player?

It's $199 everywhere now (at least it should be) - there's been a price reposition.

No you can't use an Optus SIM in it without getting it unlocked (either by paying Telstra's fee to get it unlocked or by going to a repairer that has the gear to do it).

IMHO, the phone has to be one of the best phone that SE has made, they have did everything right with these phones, and one thing which is a plus for this phone, it does not have those prone to broke joystick.

Basically the phone has everything you could want, a nice camera with flash and auto focus, and the walkman features.

The only thing which is a let down is the small screen.

A cousin of mine purchased one a few weeks back and it has been great, while he opted for the W810i due to the walkman features, I went for the K800i for its impressive camera.

Andy you need to sign up as a Sony member to get the phone for $199. Pretty easy if you own a Sony product.

AFAIK, the W810i does not support flash menu, even if its unbranded.

It appears that this phone is now $199 from Allphones, and also comes with a set of Skullcandy headphones.

allphones.com.au/hot/1207_5.asp

EDIT: Thanks for correcting me Arghdee, So I guess the handset must still be locked and branded with telstra :(

From that link, it appears to be telstra locked...

Things you need to know: Network unlocking fee applies. Limit 1 handset per transaction.

Yes, its just a Telstra Pre-Paid and they are giving away the skullcandy headphones.

Lots of people belive that buying a pre-paid phone means they are buying it outright, but its not the case. If you get a phone (new) for under $200 you can *almost* guarantee it will be network locked.

Yeah, I got confused, as it was listed in Allphones "Hot Offers" section, and the ad also didnt have anything related to telstra on it. I assumed it was outright until I saw the smallprint at the bottom of the webpage.

I looked at it, saw the big T in the top right hand corner, and "comes with $10 included credit"

Although I do work for a Telstra Dealer, so I suppose I'm sad like that.
