I plug it in, iTunes 7 recognises it and tells me to download and install, i do... my current firmware is 1.2, want to upgrade to 1.4.1... somehow when it is trying to install my ipod mini doesn't show the "do not disconnect" anymore and it is still "upgrading" 30 minutes later... What do I do? It can't upgrade

Apparently anyone who updates their iPod firmware needs to plug the iPod into a power socket via the power adapter (it's a massive scheme to get people to buy more of their products). Until you plug it into the power, it will not work. Total BS if you ask me, but it's what they have done.

The AC power adapter doesn't come with the iPod, it's an accessory that you have to buy seperately.

The old updater is still around somewhere... here www.apple.com/support/do...8forwindows.html
