Sorry for the new thread, but i have been trying to find out information on how to setup the e61 to use with MyNetFone. Does anyone have this working and if so what settings did you use? I have been trying all i can think of and can't seem to get it to register and support don't have it listed as supported devices.

You cannot connect to a VOIP provider on the otherside of a router. There is no NAT Traversal available. You would have to connect to a Asterix box which in turn connects to a VOIP provider. Seems like this is not clearly spelt out in the E61 spec. Hope Nokia addresses this with some software changes

I don't know much about the E61's (well virtuall nothing) but wouldn't you be able to set the E61 up with a static IP on the inside of the network then just route all VOIP traffic (port 5060) to that IP address?

Chris.

I have done this with static IP and even gone as far to set DMZ to that IP but still can't seem to get it working.

If MyNetFone ran a proper (or even any) Session Border Controller, it would work.

NAT Traversal is one of the jobs of an SBC.

But it's not all MyNetFone's fault. It's very early days for SIP support on the E61. I bought one as soon as Three had them (couple of months ago now) and have given up using it.

e61addicted.de is a good website for leading-edge e61 stuff

The lack of NAT support on these devices can be easily worked around on the provider proxy.

We have successfully managed to get the E61 working with VoXaLot. For settings see:

In the SIP settings on my e61 I have configured them to a point that I eventually got them to show that Mynetfone registered. *YAY* However, I set internet calling as my default to test this and it then prompts that the internet calling service is unavailable. *hmmm* Seems it's not truly registered after all...*grr*

The below settings show your e61 as registered using mynetfone however after reading a few other websites and forums it appears that Nokia still has some work to do to enable internet phone calls using these registered settings. However, I am more than happy to be proven wrong!! :)

Profile name: mynetfone
Service profile: IETF
Default access point: <for you to define>
Public user name: sip:xxxxxx@mynetfone.com.au <- where xxxxxx is your mynetfone user name
Use compression: No
Registration: Always on
Use security: No

Proxy server:
Proxy server address: none
Realm: none
User name: xxxxxx <- where xxxxxx is your mynetfone user name
Password: <your mynetfone password>
Allow loose routing: Yes
Transport type: UDP
Port: 5060

Registrar server:
Registrar server address: sip:sip01.mynetfone.com.au
Realm: none
User name: xxxxxx <- where xxxxxx is your mynetfone user name
Password: <your mynetfone password>
Transport type: UDP
Port: 5060

Well, can't get it to work behind NAT still, will work well if my phone has a public IP address (like using 3G)

For what is is worth (it may give you some clues) I have the E61 working on my home network via Telstra ADSL (Speedstream 6520) with Voiptalk.org. Quality is excellent. Settings as follows:

Profile name: VoIPtalk
Service Profile: IETF
Default Access point: *your access point identifier*
Public user name: sip:814xxxx@voiptalk.org
Use compression: No
Registration: Always On
Use security: No
-Proxy server
--Proxy server address: sip:217.14.132.172
--Realm: 217.14.132.172
--User name: 814xxxx
--Password: *your voiptalk password*
--Allow loose routing: Yes
--Transport Type: TCP
--Port:5065 ------ warning, not 5060

-Registrar Server
--Registrat serv. addr.: sip:voiptalk.org
--Realm: voiptalk.org
--User name: 814xxxx
--Password: *your voiptalk password*
--Transport Type: TCP
--Port:5060

It's also interesting that I can have my SP3102 registered with voiptalk.org, and my E61 registered, and they both ring when I receive an incoming call. I can answer and talk on either. Isn't VOIP cool!!

I have searched everywhere for a proxy server but can't seem to find anything!? I thought because my phone had registered that perhaps I had to do someone to my router!? My router works perfectly with MyNetFone via a telstra handset just not my e61 hence my dilemma!? Perhaps it's just not meant to be right now...*L*

Thanks for posting, however, those are the settings I have set up already without success, see above. Seems I'll just have to wait until Nokia release a VoIP update before the end of the year!?

For the record I have also been having trouble getting my E70 to register with MyNetFone. I've emailed the guys there so I hope to post something here soon with a fix for this.

I tried the settings here:

forum-replies.cfm?t=576129&p=-1#bottom

... my iiNet test account registered first go! Voice quality pretty damn good too.
