I was thinking of getting a logitech rumblepad.

I have read previous threads on this topic.

I mostly play NFS MW and Madden. Will this controller work? I read a previous post where in NFS MW the cars steer to the left constantly.

Is the rumblepad a better choice?

The calibration wizard will fix that.

I personally love the 360 controller, and believe that you should go and buy one right now.

There's one you can buy off the shelf that comes with a driver disc.

no, download driver from Microsoft site, plug to USB. Simple.

Note. it is not working with every game. It works with NFS MW, Fifa06 world cup. Not working with NBA 06 live.

No vibration as well.

i got it for $59 and im returning it.

done a fair bit of reading about the problems now. it seems there is no way to fix it apart from a few adhoc pieces of software that have been independantly developed. and u will not get rumble no matter what.

you dont have any deadzone issues? u r the first person i have heard of without any.

try letting go of the steering on a str8 track and hit the accelerator and see if u drift left or right.

Yeah i have NFS MW as well and using the xbox 360 controller and i have that damn steering problem and the no vibration as well. How easy would it for microsoft to write a decent driver to support something that they do advertise as a pc control????? GRRRRR

Yeah i thought about returning mine but i thought i'd give microsoft a bit of time to write a decent driver. But i've had mine for a few months and they havent bothered to bring out a decent one. I mean really, support it if you claim its a pc control.

yep done everything i can think of. i think though maybe the windows cd that came with the xbox 360 has changed my reg file or something, cause when i unplug the 360 control panel cant see it, but as soon as i put it in the usb it can and contrl panel lists it, but i cant remove from there !

so annoyed.

lol

well u can buy two packages, the standard xbox360 pack, or the one for windows xp. the difference in the packs is a driver CD in the windows pack. the controllers are the same. doesnt matter which one u get really as u can download the software anyway. but to be honest, it doesnt help me any.

sorry man ur a bit off there, read the entire thread.

well guys i got it going. xbcd in all its glory, but u need the 360 profile. i cant believe we need to resort to a mod software to get this thing going, poor. but its nice. although rumble is way off, doesnt rumble when i hit things but does when nothing is doing. i may still keep after al.

Just a quick question. I dont have a 360 yet but is the controler plug the same as the normal xbox and does it have the snap off connector on the cable? Coz if it does it just saved me 1/2 an hour work modifing the plug like i did on my xbox so i can use it on the xbox too

I got one of these babies thinking it would be easier playing certain games with them.

Xmen Legends 2 Apocalypse
Hitman Blood money
GTA San Andreas

Anyway the controller software sucked. No game profiling manager of any sorts.
So I looked on the net and found Pinnacle Game Profiler @ www.pinnaclegameprofiler.com for US$20 (or d/l demo for 30 days)

It recognises the Xbox 360 controller and the good thing is the program scans the games you have and downloads the appropriate profiles. If they don't have it, just go their forums and see if other people have uploaded theirs.

Downside is I was hoping for some rumble feature but experienced none when I was playing the games above.

hey xbcd is free. make sure u get the xbox 360 profiles though. there is a website dedicated to it, just do a google.

i still dont know if i like the 360 as a pc controller though.

i think its uncomfortable, i think its gone backwards on the original (second version).

the one thing i do like is the trigger grips, makes applying brake and accel much easier, forza style, drift into a corner lower the grip on acceleration and gently squeeze brake and slowly release brake and increase acceleration. although its not very accurate in nfs mw as forza. will try it on GTR tonight. another pro for the controller is if your going to get a 360 as well u dont have to spend extra money on a second controller.

aside from those, i think the rumblepad is much better choice.
