hey guys..

i received my MacBook pro on the 30th of may and my non glossy screen was perfect. yesterday i was using it and noticed 2 strange dark spots. now ive seen dead pixels before, but these were different. i used a loope (like a magnifier glass) at work to look at the individual pixels up close. the pixels in these dark spots are on, just appear dimmer - which creates a black spot to the human eye.

ive tried lightly rubbing the spots, and running the pixel fix widget - no go.

i showed my girlfriends family and asked if they could spot them.. they managed to find another one and a light pixel. just my luck of course.

i called 133622 (or whatever the 133 MAC number is) and asked about dead pixels - they said i need to take it to a service center.. just great. does anyone know what their pixel guideline is? i'd kinda like to get it replaced...

any other MacBook pro users with the same problem?

cheers.

Same here, but I hardly ever notice it so it doesn't bother me.

docs.info.apple.com/arti...tml?artnum=22194

They don't give out specific numbers, but I'm guessing with 7+ you should be able to get a replacement.

Good luck.

well i took it down to the service center, they looked at it and said it was dust between the lcd layer and front layer.

they've ordered a new screen for me and will give me a call when it comes in so they can put it on for me.

great service cos i get to hang on to the laptop!

I have the same problem, I have a spot on my screem that has gone white, well it is much brighter then everywhere else on the screen. It is very noticable.
