Guys and Gals,

May I make a request to keep ontopic, that is discuss BF2. Valid subtopics are tactics used in the game, the effect of patches by developers, random bits of fun you may have in the game, matches and ladders that have or are taking place etc.

Try and refrain from making condescending remarks toward other users or making this thread the grounds for personal attacks. By all means, if a user is a little misinformed or you have a different idea, say so, but do not attack the user in any way, attack the idea (or praise it, as the case may be).

This thread has a nice social aspect in parts, which is really nice to see, let's keep it that way for current and future threads

As for the personal attacks etc. being discussed, please let the moderator team deal with them via herrings and other means as required. A post to ask people to stay on topic or lay off a user is ok, but beyond that leave it to the professionals :)

I was on the same server / side. Our team was rather weak, the scoreboard was stacked with only a 3rd of the team getting anything above 10, so I guess either a lot of idle players or newbies. The other side was also roughly 75% the one clan, so it was slightly stacked.

I don't mind playing aginst a stacked team sometimes as you have to earn the kills the hard way, but it really takes the cake when on an assault map like Operation Harvest the defending, stacked team start spawn camping in Armour and Helicopters. Isn't it easy enough that you've started with all the flags, map position and stacked teammembers that you need to rake in the easy kills as well?

Glad to say I didn't see the WP players on the server engaging in this behaviour.

Hehe, I'm pleased to say I'm 2 people's worst enemies! One guy I got 10 times!! I'm pretty sure most of those were with Claymores, knives or pistols too, hehe.
The other guy - a Sir! ;) - I got 9 times. Don't remember him.
I also killed another guy 7 times.

My only enemy of any kind is a guy who got me 7 times. It's funny, because I don't remember him at all. I remember other guys who continually handed me my ass, but not the guy who did it consistently enough to make my enemies list!!
Maybe it was so traumatic my mind wiped it from memory ;)

P.S. I'm pretty sure the enemy/victim stats are broken. I stat farmed very early on in my BF2 career - before I even knew what stat farming was, hehe. I was in an APC on Karkand & I kept killing a guy who kept getting revived. I'd killed him +20 times before I finally got the medic too, but he's not in my stats...

you're right CP, they don't work properly. I think it has something to do with being on certain types of servers... eg BR running, or official EA, or something, I don't know...

But my victims list should be 3 X the size ;)

If the victims list is broken then that means that Eversio is forever my worst enemy :(.

Scumlash, I have to say I just don't have the time to play bf2 atm that I used to, so you should take #1 spot shortly. You seem to be putting in like 4-5 hours a day recently :)

The table should be ranked by SPM....in my books 3+ are the good players. (assuming all there time isnt in a jet or tank)

Aint that the truth! My SPM almost always goes up if I play AF, but my KDR goes right down usually. It's becasue I got AT, I always have to kill that tank but it usually gets me a few times before I get it :(

I don't think he's a stat padder - he always plays USA, he always plays Karkand, he nade spams or gets in an APC and picks people off at the Hotel at the start, is lethal with the PKM, and very difficult to hit because he's jumping all over the place.

Usually his round scores are 60 to 100 and only needs to play about 5 to 10 rounds a day to get 1000 points per day...which is 7000 a week...which is almost my total score for 6 months!

Well it seems your in the clear. If i was you i would just stick with that account, if you have these so called new skills, it shouldn't take you too long to raise your SPM and Accuracy levels. Which is one of the reasons his #1 highest score means little to me. He is generally a good player and fairly polite, I don't see why he has to go ruining things by then exploiting the hell out of every lame gameplay element that EA haven't fixed yet. His constant bunny hopping, etc looked suspiciously like a macro before 1.3, and is now somewhat reduced and more random. Due to the crap net code and him having a 200ish ping, the constant jumping makes it hard to hit him unless using shotgun, etc. Prone jumpers are becoming more of a problem as well.

Oh well got my 1000 heals, so I'll stick with AF/SF for a while and avoid karkand.

In the last year, Volx has put in the 54 days worth of BF2 time. That's almost 20% of a whole year, playing BF2 - 3.5 hours per day.

I think the solution is to make jumping a slow action - when you jump, any action directly after is slowed (ie, another jump, going prone etc) Not sure how possible it is why the physics of BF2 though.

I'm sure the end result of that patching would be the same--> CTD

There's heaps they could do to jumping to make it better. Make the jumps lower, not let you change direction mid air (or go prone - but they actually think they've already done that) & make jumps use more fatigue.

Sweet, I am a coffee whore :). I have a decent pc to use at the moment so I have been playing special forces a little and actually doing well with my G3, my pc just gets too slow at the crucial times but this one is smooth as. There's prolly other WP folk who have larger 'scores' than us but I'll gladly sit atop the crap pile and smirk ;)

haven't bothered for a knife badge. Which is why I'm a lowly ranked sarge, but then I don't stats pad or jet whore.

I've gotten to 6 kills IAR so far - this was on Wake where I was sneaking around the side of the air field and knifing all the snipers who were firing onto the Beach flag. As soon as I get the Basic knife I'll get the Veteran knife too, thanks to patch 1.3 :p

I just can't bring myself to spawn camp to get this basic knife badge - it seems so cheap.

I find cartillery excellent for snipers also. Alas you don't get any points for it, just one or two tickets at a time towards a victory.

But it is rather satisfying squashing more than one at a time :)

Cartillery for me seems like a big waste of the Commander's attention.

My favourite use for this has got to be cartillerying the carrier's AA. If you do it right the car will roll off the aa and take out a few people on the carrier too!

I think I got cartilleried when I was in an apc MOVING AT FULL SPEED once...that upset me to say the least :p

I think in COD2 jump slows you down, so bunnyhopping is ineffective (most of the time).

Anyway, bunnyhopping doesn't bother me as much as the CTD, server crashes, J-10 killing machine, the ghost AT rocket bug and the AA's weakness.

The red/blue bug i could live with as well.

they can be quite strategic. I've taken out sniper's in strategic positions, taken out jets as they've taken off.

Excellent use is to drop one onto the carrier at Wake when your the chinese. Your guys can cause havoc.

they're very accurate too (which I think should be adjusted personally)

anyone had the full pc restart from a game of Special forces? seems to happen with only SF for me really annoying problem

I think I got Acme this arvo once or twice with cartillery, was very enjoyable :)

Had that happen to me, my CPU overclock was unstable, so I raised the vcore and it's all stable now and no resets. :)
