Damn good reason to get a free A/V suite, and particularly ironic when you look at this thread here:

My NOD32 gave me plenty of warning when I was running out of licence. You might want to check that you actually have run out, look back through your emails or whatever.
Unless of course you were using the trial version, I'm not sure if that has warnings.

Mine has also stopped on the 22/03/2006. Odd. My subscription shouldn't have run out already... I should have another 4 months left...

In english???

My NOD32 is & always has updated fine with no problems.

And regarding the post above I wasn't saying anyone WAS using a pirated copy - just that as a NOD32 reseller I have been informed that Eset have taken steps to stop "pirated/cracked" versions from being able to update.

My Nod32 did a weird thing about 5 days ago, it updated to 20060322 which put it almost a month older than what it was prior to the update, I did a manual update once I noticed this and it updated to the correct update... Its been working fine since though.

Guess who has a dodgie version of a very necessary part of his computer????

If this is in fact the case...then why not just use a FREE fully functioning package such as AVG or AVAST? Don't understand the mentality of cracking/pirating essential software when a very good alternative is available....sorry guys....just an opinion.

Nope! Eset just update the "cracked" after all the others have been updated first ie. Paid - Free - Cracked.

True that was their policy. They have now begun stopping "pirated" versions from updating. Just because an illegal copy still can & hasn't been added to the "banned list" doesn't mean that it will not be soon.

I just don't understand the mentality of people using "dodgy" versions of an antivirus product in the first place when free versions such as Avast exist.

But then I don't understand the mentality of vandals, thugs or thieves in general.
