Hi

I would like to know if Telecom VoIP PBX system is a hosted solution.

Also Could you give us an idea of pricing for the feature which are listed on your site.

Also do you have a list of exactly what area codes DIDs are available?

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.

The PBX comes in two options.
Hosted or Local

There is obviously cost benefits to the Hosted option being that you only need handsets for the extensions, and not the PBX server.

We offer the business hosted PBX on a per quote basis, as every customer has specific needs such as queues, IVR, routes, DID etc.

We offer National DID coverage.
If the DID is currently not available, we will order it and there may be a delay of 14days to activate the DID.

I'd like to hear the outcome .... seems like there's a lot of promises in the Hosted PBX space and not much delivery (not referring to Koala in particular).

Yes every company which has told me that it is available has been stretching the truth in same shape or form.

Still on the look out so if anybody knows of such a company let me know.

Yeah.... but it won't work for me as they say this...

"Nehos can provide business-class telephone services with PBX features over your existing Internet connection using our fully-redundant Hosted PBX solution. This solution is currently available in Brisbane with other areas coming online in March '06. "

www.nehos.net/HostedSolutions.html

So it counts me out as I live in Melbourne.

You can order any DID at the moment...have an order in for Rocky, Harvery Bay and Mt Isa...

I have a couple of Brissy DID's and will run these as well over my IAX trunk to Nehos. Are you after a Hosted Solution or are you running an Asterisk box yourself... If its the latter, contact Nehos and you con order DID's for any calling area in Australia.

No Barry and myself are after HOSTED solutions and Nehos only offers things like voice mail and ability to ring all extensions.

Hardly PBX features if you ask me.

Are you both not interested in installing an Asterisk box and running all those features using a DID number ??

The additional cost to setup the Asterisk box is pretty low compared to handset cost....would give you all the control you want....

WHIM me and I can point you in the right direction...

Don't know anything about the hardware and a few of us work from our home offices so we can't really have a box in each location. That is why I'm looking for a hosted solution.

Oztell would be perfect if they had national DID coverage!

Whats your budget ??

You could probably organise a Asterisk server to be installed at a co-lo and have multiply users with remote extension - I run this type of thing for several businesses (not co-lo) and it works well...its pretty mush what OZtell and nehos are doing anyway..

Maybe thats an options....I would be happy to talk to Norman from Nehos about it...

It would be nice to update this post with the fact you infact have a hosted IVR, Queue and hold music.
Including inbound fax -to- email over the same DID.

You have most of these, and the ability to have the others if you wish.

It is yet to work.

I have been sending emails to you and your other support team for over three weeks now and every time you fix one problem another systems to arise.

For example you fixed up the problem we were having with people not being able to enter extension numbers after calling our DID as they received this is not a valued extension number error message.

Now when I call and perform the same thing the line just goes silent and then nothing happens.

I'm starting to just think that your hosted PBX solution doesn't work?

Hello,

With the cost of IP-PBX dropping rapidly... why not buy and host the IP-PBX locally at your offices?

We also offered hosted PBX solution before, however we have moved away from it lately, due to various quality and support issues. This is not due to the hosted PBX system itself, more to do with the overall reliability of the IP link between the customers' site and the PBX system hosted at our data center. As you know the Internet is not always stable, there are occasional glitches, down time, high latency, packet loss etc.. which could happen at the customer's end, our end or anywhere in between. Since the PBX "brain" so to speak, is located on our site, any loss of and/or poor IP connectivity resulted in the loss of PBX or communication functionality at the customers' office.

IP connectivity quality can be guaranteed by running dedicated leased line or frame relay into our POP, but it is costly and this defeats the purpose of having hosted PBX solution in the first place.

This is from our own experience, not trying to discourage any users to seek their own advice and solutions from VSP like Nehos & Koala.

Sipme support.

You do make some good points but if you know little about VoIP, don't want to spend $100s if not $1000s initially and have people working from multiple places a hosted PBX is still the best choice!

Use oztell and get your DIDs elsewhere.

There is a module in oztell that will allow you to be registered to a 3rd party SIP provider and receive calls via their DIDs. Easy - you just need the DIDs then.
