Can anyone recommend me a good song/music piece that would fit well in a fight scene? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks. :)

Ready Steady Go by Paul Oakenfeld springs to mine quickly. Snappy arrangement that you could easily see two people going the the tonk to.

Thanks, not quite what I'm looking for though. Think The Matrix or something along those lines. Any more suggestions of songs or bands?

System of a Down - Temper

Or any of many of their songs
Start slow - definite drums - break into action, return to slow thumping then crescendo again

I've always thought an older song I used to like would suit a fightscene well.

Supernova Goes Pop - Powerman 5000

or..

RATM - Pick the song, a lot of them would suit a fight scene
Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod

Funny, before I read the replies I also thought of Ready Steady Go and any Prodigy song!

You could always go for clashing styles and have some beautiful classical music :)

Mudvayne - Determined might be a good one.

Edit: Now that I think of it, almost any Mudvayne song would be a good choice.

If you want a bit of a retro feel to the scene, what about Rolling Stones - Paint It Black or Led Zep - The Immigrant Song.

I guess it depends on the type of fight scene, if it's something large scale I'd suggest Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' or Holst's 'Mars, The Bringer of War'. 1812 Overture?

If it's just a punchup, then why not go for some funk(think 70's cop drama) or even some sort of Benny Hill/cheesy country chase scene music.

The Prodigy is a good suggestion. Not all their songs would suit, but there's enough to choose from.

Is is a film your making? What sort of fight scene?

I like the idea of clashing styles, something like the fight music from star wars movies and mix it with say quarashi (a millenium version of rage against the machine of sorts)

At the moment I'm leaning towards The Prodigy. I'm probably looking for that type of music. Any other bands similar to The Prodigy with some instrumental songs?

"Close To You" - The Carpenters :-D

Might work if you're after irony...

It'd depend on the style of fight a bit.

I reckon you could do something with Shock by Fear Factory.

Closer to God by NIN (one of the remixes from the Downward Spiral era) would also work well for a really brutal one on one fight as it starts reasonably quiet but with a strong beat and by the end it's basically raw distortion.

Give Quarashi - Jinx a listen. If you've seen the Smirnoff ice ad with the huskies and the guy with the outdoor fridge, they play some quarashi sample at the end of the ad, it's heavy but it kinda feels like it could fit like the RATM song @ the end of Matrix...

dude, the best fight scene songs i can find that are unique and awesome are:
DJ Pone & Drixxxe - "Fighting Man"
Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band - "Express Yourself (Mocean Worker Remix)"
The Chemical Brothers - "Electronic battle weapon 7"
Basement Jaxx - "Wheres Your Head At"
The Chemical Brothers - "Dig Your Own Hole"
and
Andy Hunter - "Go"
this is good stuff.

Well, it is kind of hard to pick the music for a scene without knowing whats been going on/whats happening.
but anyway; heres some of my attempts:P
---------
Ram Jam - Black Betty (bit of a cliché though)
Suicide - Ghost Rider (maybe??)
The Stooges - Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell / Down The Street / Fun House
Fela Kuti & Afrika 70 - Zombie (err maybe, all depends on the scene;))
King Crimson - One More Red Nightmare
Rolling Stones - Rip This Joint!:D hehe
---
anyway, it all depends on the scene cant really pick the appropriate music for it without any idea whats going on (besides a fight)
might have more effect without any music who knows;)

"bitter sweet symphony" by the verve would probably go down well as music for a fight scene.

The prodigy has some good beats that would fit well into a fight.
And if you want something more severe... then maybe some Slayer?

It would really depend on what type of fight scene you need it for... Ready steady go which has been suggested would be good for a modern matrix/kill bill type fight scene but I couldn't imagine it in a movie like romper stomper or movies like that

As above.

I guess for us to really be of some help maybe you need to 'set the scene for us' and give us a picture.

The music needs accentuates the scene.

Nice choice... Especially the mid-break. Seems to have been used a lot during filmed game fights, such as various WoW boss fight videos ive seen. =)

Cool. I've been wondering who that song was by. And a quick wiki of Quarashi says its the song 'Copycat'...for any others who wanted to know.

The breakdown on Everybody Gets Hurt - Inside The Hurt is awesome. Great music to watch someone gettin hurt hahaha. There's video clips of it somewhere but I can't find it right now.

FOUND IT: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezpeltcyg-A

Stars off with Partridge Family or something then goes into the Everybody Gets Hurt audio clip which is half way through the song. This rules.
