This is blatant self promotion, as it's something I did a few months ago - but thought others might find it amusing. I can't remember just who dared me to do it, but it was someone somewhere on IRC. It just *sounded* the most feral meal possible.

For what it's worth it's two maccas Quarter Pounders joined together, with added bacon, and tied up with twine so it wouldn't fall apart once beer battered and deep fried. The beer batter is just one cup plain flour, half a teaspoon of baking soda and enough beer (toohey's new in this case) to make it sticky.

I can't say I'll be making one again. It was possibly the heaviest thing I've ever had for lunch. I really didn't feel like eating anything else until breakfast the next day. That's not to say it tasted BAD - it was quite tasty in a unique way, but stopping at the first bite would have been the sensible thing to do :).

Enjoy a Deep Fried Beer Battered Bacon Double Cheeseburger - www.danamania.com/burger

I may, if paid enough, do a Deep Fried Beer Battered Doner Kebab, but give my digestive system another year to recover...

this reminds me of the time when me and my mates and cousins went out for a night on the piss for my birthday.

on the way home (at about 5am) we stopped into a maccas and we each ordered custom-made triple-quarter pounders.... yes, thats right.... TRIPLE. That is, beef, cheese, beef, cheese, beef, cheese, pickles, onions and seasame seed bun.

needless to say, we didn't get a hangover the next day even though we were blind drunk. the burger must've absorbed it. (although i wont mention how long we each spent in the bathroom the day after) :\

Sorta OT...

The best burger you can have at either HJ's or McD's is a custom

Its a Hamburger/Chese burger with the top removed added to the bottom of a Fillet-o-Fish/Whaler(or catch of the day...whatever they call it now...)

This is a great combination i go back to again and again, and i guess can be done with the chicken equivalent of the fish burger

...mixing meats...isnt that how they made BSE?

There really should be a Fast Food Custom Jobs Thread

I know some one whos done that :) They used to have competitions of special meals... full pounders, McChickens with 5 patties, Cheeseburger with 12 pieces of meat IIRC (it came out in two halves, it had to be "assembled" after delivered :))

Best I've done is 2 triples one after the other. The only bad thing wasn't able to get drunk the night, or at least feel the effects of it :(

Mmmmm on that note I'm off to maccas.

That would be weight watchers with the points (been there, done that, lost 80KGs a few years ago). I'd make a guess that it'd be at LEAST 25-30 points, and that's somewhere around the maximum for an entire day.

Not that y'all should go eating deep fried beer battered bacon double cheeseburgers daily, of course, in an effort to lose weight.

Not that you COULD even if you tried, I imagine.

Speaking of butter, I *have* heard of a dessert made from a slab of frozen butter (about half inch thick, 2" by 2" square), deep fried in a thick cake-like batter, then removed from oil before it completely melts and served in a dish with maple syrup.

The hot batter is supposed to melt the rest of the butter from the inside, and make a somewhat soaked butter/maple syrup snack.

Deep fried butter though... that just sounds wrong.

But that doesn't look that bad.
Albeit, taking it to extremes, but sausage, wrapped up in bacon, then wrapped up again in some mince + cheese + egg looks damn nice :)
On a 'smaller' scale, might be quite tasty - probably wouldn't stick the whole product between a loaf of bread, but rather slice the 'meat' into more manageable slices, and then whack it between some bread rolls.

The quarter pounder job on the other hand doesn't really tickle my fancy.

A 15 pound burger! Oh dear.

Try eating a kilo of burgers (2.2 pounds) for starters, it's a bloody lot! Anyone - what's the mass of a Big Mac/Whopper or similar, I am sure someone has one right now...

"I'll have the Mega Burger with a side of angioplasty, and....I'll think I'll go with the stomach pump for dessert"
"Would you like fries with that?"

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned the Hardee's Monster Thickburger. As opposed to the 13 pound burger, this appears to be more mainstream, which is perhaps more worrying.

"One burger with enough calories to feed a family of three in many countries." :)

107 grams of fat? It's just nauseating (in a tasty kind of way).

With burgers like that, dying of a heart attack before 30 seems almost worth it...

On a 'smaller' scale, might be quite tasty - probably wouldn't stick the whole product between a loaf of bread, but rather slice the 'meat' into more manageable slices, and then whack it between some bread rolls

Yeah, I agree. Scaling it down to a reasonable size, and you'd have a great burger.....

For what it's worth it's two maccas Quarter Pounders joined together, with added bacon, and tied up with twine so it wouldn't fall apart once beer battered and deep fried. The beer batter is just one cup plain flour, half a teaspoon of baking soda and enough beer (toohey's new in this case) to make it sticky

Just the name "McDonalds" is sickening enough.. gross...

Now that's a experiment that you can try. Deep fry the deep fried...interesting. Shall we expect a result from you at your home or your hospital bed?

actually a lot of restaurants like the one I work at usually deep fry the meat(for example sweet and sour pork) once, and then deep fry it again later just before serving it to make it crispy. double deep frying is used a lot to make things crispier than you could do at home only frying it once.

I'm too scared to try. The thought of eating a burger which is probably 70% oil is already making me ill. Just thinking about it is making my arteries clog up.

Give me fat, any type. Pig, beef, chicken. Love the stuff.

Deep fried veges the best. No soya, no fibre, no rice.

Just lot's of saturated fat.

I'll be dead before you and enjoy it all the way :P

Whats more worrying is the vote on that website. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6501696

78,000 + people have actually tried it......and only 1% wouldn't try it

only in America!

I'm not touching another one for a LONG time :). The burger was made in July 2005 - I didn't feel the need to munch on something as -heavy- for another year, when I tried a deep fried beer battered salad sandwich a few months ago.

Unlike the burger, which was just *heavy*, the salad sandwich was nauseating. I finished it, but had to go lie down afterwards to avoid it returning - hot squishy lettuce & cucumber is foul. Still, I guess I should have known that... but somebody had to try it :)

Gawd! That's even more awful. McBurgers are unhealthy to start with, but misusing a beautiful sandwich in this way should be illegal!!

Hey at least you used beetroot. :)

We should start a petition that comeone please confiscate your deepfryer before you kill yourself with one of your "creations".

A few years ago, these deep fried camemberts were quite popular. I have to admit I love 'em. But from a nutritionist's point of view most deep-fried things are bad.

Beautiful thing that. A bit of exercise to burn it all off should do the trick.

I've had a deep-dried hamburger pattie before, that is gold. The entire burger makes good sense, i'm not sure how good the lettuce and roll would taste.
