Bought a Billion 7402VGP router and the PSP can connect to it and do the "Network Update" fine, but when trying to visit a website it says "The connection to the server has timed out.".
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Are you using WPA by some chance?
I've found the WPA client on the PSP is rather flaky, timing out on the key exchange with the latest firmware version on my WRT54G, but connecting most of the time with the earlier major revision.
If I disable WPA and connect with a vanilla or WEP setup, it works fine on every AP I've tried.

do you have to create a rule to allow the psp's ip out of your network?

I'm using an unsecured open network. The PSP has connected with another wireless router, different brand. So, I dunno, I think it's a Billion 7402VGP issue.

I had a PSP browsing perfectly using WPA-PSK on a DLink G604T. No dropouts unless at the distance limits (which were not too bad).

roborobo02 writes... Well this is a "MAYBE" if you go to "Network Connections"/Local Area Connection/ and right click/ Select Properties/ ....now ..under Client for Microsoft Networks..click on the Drop menu above and untick "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network"............Please understand this is a MAYBE but it seemed to work for me................/Robin
How are you supposed to right click on Local Area Connection on a PSP?

Ok.. I solved this problem.
Anyone who wishes to know what I did, send me a WHIM. I'll be whim'ing Leon.
Edit: Set your Default Router to 192.168.1.254, Primary DNS to 192.168.1.254, IP to 192.168.1.4 and Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0
