I've recently downloaded the new iTunes 5.0, upgrading from 4.9 and whenever i reach the near end of installation, an alert box comes up with the following:

"Error 1920. Service Bonjour Service (Bonjour Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services"

And after that error I have to cancel installation. What's Bonjour Service?! Has anyone else had this problem? How can I overcome this? This is ridiculous... I CAN'T even install iTunes now.

bonjour is apple's implemtation of upnp. I'm not quite sure why iTunes needs it.... That is the real question!

Yeah how many services is Apple planning on installing for a bloody music player program.

Now I like iTunes but this is getting stupid.

Are you logged in as the admin?

If so, have you tried this?

Start - Run - 'services.msc'.
Find 'Bonjour Service' and set the startup type to manual

iTunes 5 died on me today and just kept crashing every time I tried to open it so have managed to uninstall and go back to 4.9 which seems to be working.
