I've just lost all access to international websites.

Werribee, ADSL2

Is it just me?

International is now back, other issues with routing though, might be something else. Thread can be closed.

Yes I am getting some sedoparking site...nice DNS hijacking TPG wtf

Pinging bt.mymenclave.com [64.38.29.126] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 64.38.29.126: bytes=32 time=298ms TTL=57
Reply from 64.38.29.126: bytes=32 time=246ms TTL=57

Actual IP shouldn't be that...it should be the 1 below

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping bt.mymenclave.com

Pinging misuzu.radicand.org [8.14.147.10] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 8.14.147.10: bytes=32 time=12ms TTL=51
Reply from 8.14.147.10: bytes=32 time=11ms TTL=51
Reply from 8.14.147.10: bytes=32 time=11ms TTL=51

Whats going on?

What the hell.

I would understand if DNS didn't work at all, but this redirection to a PARKING ad ladened page is just terrible. Someone f-ed up majorly and needs to be fired imo.

Hi All,

Can you guys hardcode TPG DNS (203.12.160.35/36) on your tcp/ip. If still failing, please use the one found in OpenDNS.

Please post or send result.

Regards,
EC

I hard coded the DNS in before and it hasn't changed (ie. hijacked by spyware). It was clearly using TPG's DNS servers which led us to t he sedoparking page.

Someone might be tampering with TPG's dns servers =S.

Nothing has changed but the site I posted above works properly now, traceroute.org works too.

This wouldnt have helped as the problem appeared to be with TPG's DNS, and during the downtime OpenDNS was one of the affected/redirected sites.

edit: not sure if the problems are still existing, but everything appears to be back to normal for me (TPG Sydney CBD)

For those who cannot reach OpenDNS, their DNS locations are:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

OpenDNS servers.

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Also if you have a proxy specified in your browser. Then try without.

Everything's working back to normal now – with proxy back in place. Did TPG have an issue with their DNS? Cos surely we all couldn't have been effected at the same time by a local issue on our machines?
