I notice that peering in the ACT via PIPE is not free, any plans to bring us in line?

Any reason why we are left out considering PIPE has a peering point in Canberra?

Netspace haven't been allowing free data between peering points on new plans for quite a while. But I also don't believe the ACT ever had free PIPE data.

I expect you'll find that this is – at least in part – because PIPE and Netspace are in physically seperate buildings.

i don't think you were left out if youhave a peering point... just these days its counted to your quota some of us on the older(fg) and other plan that have pipe data is counted as free, the reason is IMHO is that its been abused to much some of the users were pulling in access of 200gigs a month and my reconing its not cheep to carry the cost of data.......

Reread the eligibilty/inelligibilty lists. Okay, all makes sense now.
thanks BadBoy

My question is answered and I doubt that it is because they are in different buildings, otherwise back in the day when everyone had free pipe it would have been a bloody big building in Sydney, Perth, Melb etc.

As a long time ACT Netspace user, Pipe used to be promised as "coming soon" for at least 12 months back in 03/04 but then just went quiet.

The comment about being in the same building is pretty true. My understanding is that pipe in canberra was based out of the Transact building at the time, and Netspace was in another building in town, and they had to either move the Netspace POP or run a connection to PIPE.

This is all pretty much a mute point now, as only Netspace users on old plans even get free PIPE now, and from recent troubleshooting I've done, it appears that the ACT doesn't even exists anymore as my first hop out of my modem is in Sydney.

This is correct. I think Netspace are in the AAPT facility in Canberra, and when AAPT went ferral a year or so ago that pretty much precluded PIPE doing anything there.
